ICSK Hosts Motivational Session on ‘Focus on Goals’ for the students of the Commerce Department
The Indian Community School, Senior, organized an inspiring motivational session ‘Focus on Goals’ for the students of the Commerce Department on 9th September 2025 to guide them in shaping their career paths. The session was led by the Guest Speaker Mr. Yusuf Chorghay, Deputy Chief Investment Banking Officer, a noted figure in the banking and investment sector.
The event commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. Dr. V. Binumon, Principal and Senior Administrator of ICSK presented an august welcome to the gathering. In his address, Dr. V. Binumon highlighted the importance of hosting accomplished professionals to motivate students and broaden their perspectives. He stressed that such interactions encourage students to ask questions, remain curious, and prepare for the challenges of the future.
Setting an engaging tone, Mr. Yusuf Chorghay began his talk with light humor, connecting instantly with the students. He emphasized that real-life experience holds greater value than information easily available online, and urged students to think carefully about their purpose and goals when choosing career paths.
Pointing out the unique challenges faced by commerce students, Mr. Yusuf Chorghay candidly reflected on his own struggles in career decision-making. He underscored the crucial role of commerce in national stability, noting that while the shutdown of an airline may not cause significant disruption, the closure of a bank could have devastating consequences.
His message was clear: “Successful people are not great because of one decision, but because they take the right decisions at the right time and at the right age.”
The session concluded with an interactive Question–Answer round, where students posed insightful queries on career opportunities, skill development, and challenges in the financial sector. Mr. Yusuf Chorghay responded with practical advice, leaving the audience with valuable takeaways.
Mrs. Susan Rajesh, Vice Principal of ICSK Senior presented a memento to Mr. Yusuf Chorghay as a token of gratitude and appreciation. A heartfelt vote of thanks was delivered by Mrs. Manu Varghese, Academic Supervisor Secondary marking the close of an insightful and impactful session that left students motivated and inspired.
