तरंग 2025 – Hindi Diwas Inter-Branch Competition - Celebrating the richness of the Language Hindi at ICSK

Hindi Diwas 1The Indian Community School, Kuwait celebrated ‘Hindi Diwas’ with great zeal and enthusiasm on Sunday, 14th September 2025, at the ICSK Senior auditorium by organizing “तरंग – Hindi Diwas Inter-Branch Competition. The day highlighted the significance of Hindi as a language that unites people and preserves India’s cultural and linguistic heritage.

The event, brought together students from different branches of ICSK – The Indian Community School, Senior, The Indian Community School, Khaitan, The Indian Community School, Amman, The Indian Community School, Junior and The Indian School of Excellence – to showcase their linguistic talent and creativity in Hindi. The day witnessed an enthusiastic participation of 76 students across the branches.

The program was graced by the Chief Guest, Mrs. Geetika Ahuja, Principal of Aspire Indian International School, Kuwait, who received a warm reception from the students. The day commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by a soulful prayer song presented by the school choir. The gathering also paid tribute to the National Anthem of Kuwait.

The event was formally inaugurated with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest, Mrs. Geetika Ahuja, accompanied by Dr. V. Binumon, Principal and Senior Administrator of ICSK. A vibrant welcome dance by the young dancers set the tone for the celebration. Dr. V. Binumon, in his welcome address, highlighted the importance of Hindi Diwas in promoting cultural and linguistic heritage and congratulated all participants for their enthusiastic involvement.

 The esteemed Chief Guest, Mrs. Geetika Ahuja, in her address, inspired the gathering with motivating words on the importance of Hindi as a language of culture, heritage, and pride. She emphasized respecting one’s language and appreciated the beauty of Hindi in connecting people and building bridges.

A speech on the importance of Hindi was delivered by Ms. Hessa Hayat of Class 10, further enriching the spirit of the day.

The event featured a variety of competitions in two categories, including Storytelling, Antakshari, Shabd Manthan (Spell Bee), Hindi Short Film, and Debate. The participants impressed the audience with their confidence, creativity, and oratory skills, making the event engaging and memorable.

In the Storytelling Competition under Category 1, Swasti Raghavendra Rao from the ICSK, Amman secured the first prize, followed by Yashita Bhardwaj from the same branch in second place, while Yogini Shirsath from ICSK, Khaitan bagged the third prize. In the Antakshari Competition, Zainab Hunaid Miyaji and Ilham Syed from ICSK, Junior emerged winners, while the second prize went to Aanshi Chaudhary and Khulud Suhail of the ICSK, Senior, and the third place was claimed by Kumari Kavya Vikas and Zahra Asif Abbas from ICSK, Amman. In Category 2, the Shabd Manthan (Spell Bee) saw Sheza Khan from ICSK, Senior take the first prize, with Nabeeha Mohammed Feroz from ICSK, Senior in the second place, and Smriti Shiramagond from ICSK, Amman securing third. The Debate Competition concluded with Syed Siddiq Mohammed from ICSK, Khaitan in the first position followed by Dishleen Kaur from ICSK, Senior in the second position, and Ridhi Bali from ICSK, Khaitan Branch in the third position. In the Short Film Competition, Aryan Harish, Yusuf Irfan Burud, Jabir Kamru, Fatima Zainab, Sahar Fatima, Mirza Mohammad Naqi Askari, Alfiya Ratlami, Navya Sudhir Suvarna, Khwaja Moin Shaikh, Anas Asif Kardame from ICSK, Amman bagged the first position followed by Erum Fathima, Mir Rehaan Hyder, Abdullah Ahmed, Muhammad Ziyan, Nuhaid Nazeer Ahmed, Amina Shaik, Afia Shaikh, Akshra Saxena and Tasheen Fatema Shaheed Kadri from ICSK Senior in the second position.  The third place was secured by Aneeqa Raneesh, Jahana Shirin, Arshika Ratheesh, Ilham Mehek, Sumaiya Muhammad, Vihaan Vinod, Muhammed Suhail, Muhammed Zaheer, Mohammed Ahyan, Ayman Muhammed from ICSK Khaitan.

The event concluded with the announcement of winners and a prize distribution ceremony, where medals and trophies were presented to the deserving students by Mrs. Susan Rajesh, Vice Principal of ICSK Senior.The competitions not only celebrated the richness of Hindi but also encouraged students to develop a deeper connection with their mother tongue.

The celebration of Hindi Diwas at ICSK was a true reflection of the school’s commitment to nurturing linguistic pride and cultural values among its students.
