IES Kuwait Hosts 11th Bhavans Model United Nations: A Celebration of Youth Diplomacy and Leadership
The Indian Educational School (IES), Kuwait, successfully hosted the 11th Session of the Bhavans Model United Nations (BMUN) on November 4 and 5, 2025. The event brought together more than 150 student delegates from nine leading schools across Kuwait, offering an exceptional platform for young minds to engage in dialogue, diplomacy, and debate on critical global issues.
Over the course of two days, delegates participated in rigorous deliberations across five key committees: the Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC), the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), and the World Health Organization (WHO). With professionalism and poise, students demonstrated advanced analytical thinking, negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of international relations as they drafted resolutions and defended their national positions.
The conference was inaugurated in the presence of IES Senior Vice Principals Ms. Meenakshi Nayyar and Mr. Santhosh Chungath, Headmistress Ms. Muneera Mamikutty, and SIS Vice Principal Ms. Bhavitha Bright. Ms. Nayyar officially declared the conference open with an inspiring address that emphasized the importance of youth leadership in a rapidly changing world. The smooth and efficient coordination of the event was managed by Ms. Hajira Banu and Ms. Chanchal, ensuring a professional and enriching experience for all participants.
The closing ceremony, held on November 5, celebrated outstanding performances with awards in categories such as Best Delegate, Outstanding Delegate, High Recommendation, and Best Position Paper. The coveted Best Delegation Award was presented to Indian Community School, Khaitan (ICSK Khaitan), in recognition of their exceptional collective performance.
Students of IES also made a remarkable impression, earning multiple individual accolades:

The 11th edition of BMUN underscored IES Kuwait’s unwavering commitment to nurturing articulate, confident, and globally aware youth leaders who are prepared to shape the future of diplomacy and global governance.
