ICSK Khaitan conducts MUN-2026 with Grand Success
The Indian Community School Kuwait (ICSK), Khaitan successfully hosted the second edition of ICMUN 2026 on 28 and 29 August 2026, bringing together young diplomats for two days of engaging debate, negotiation, research and collaboration. The conference witnessed the enthusiastic participation of around 75 delegates, supported by a dynamic 10-member Executive Committee.
The conference was officially inaugurated on the morning of 28 August by the school Principal, Mr. K. Gangadhar Shirsath. The opening ceremony marked the beginning of two days of spirited deliberations and diplomatic engagement. Following the inaugural proceedings, Secretary General Master David Mathew formally declared ICMUN 2026 open by banging the gavel, setting the stage for the conference. The second edition featured four committees- Ad Hoc, Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC), United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), and United Nations Security Council (UNSC). Delegates actively participated in committee sessions, engaging in discussions, presenting arguments, negotiating solutions and addressing pressing global issues. Beyond the formal debates, ICMUN provided students with a valuable platform to develop public speaking, critical thinking, research, negotiation, leadership and communication skills. The confidence and enthusiasm displayed by the delegates, together with the commitment of the Executive Committee, contributed greatly to the smooth and successful conduct of the conference.
The Closing Ceremony was graced by the presence of Dr. Shirley Dennis, Director, ISEK, as the Chief Guest. In her address, Dr. Shirley congratulated the delegates on their commendable participation and appreciated their enthusiasm and confidence. She also commended the school for encouraging students to participate in such platforms, recognising their role in strengthening students’ public-speaking and communication skills and motivating them to become more confident speakers and leaders. The ceremony continued with the award and prize distribution, where outstanding delegates and committee participants were recognised for their performance, diplomacy, research and contribution throughout the conference.
As the conference drew to a close, Secretary General Master David Matthew delivered the Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty members, Executive Committee, delegates and everyone who contributed to the successful completion of ICMUN 2026. With the concluding remarks, the Secretary General formally adjourned ICMUN 2026. The successful completion of the Second Edition of ICMUN 2026 marked another significant milestone for ICSK Khaitan, providing students with an enriching experience that extended beyond the classroom. The two-day conference concluded on a high note, leaving behind valuable lessons, lasting memories and a renewed appreciation for the power of dialogue and diplomacy. ICMUN 2026 was truly a celebration of young voices, global perspectives and the spirit of diplomacy.
