IISM Promotes the Spirit of Voluntary Blood Donation
India International School, Mangaf (IISM) observed National Voluntary Blood Donation Awareness Week 2026 with a series of meaningful awareness activities aimed at sensitising students to the importance of voluntary blood donation. The programmes were conducted under the guidance of Principal Dr. Saleem, Operations Manager Mr. Iqbal, Headmistress Mrs. Sridevi, and Coordinators Mr. Shihab, Mrs. Prema and Mrs. Najiya, with the respective CCA In-charges coordinating the activities and ensuring their smooth and successful implementation. The campaign was organised in line with the theme, “One Drop of Humanity. Give Blood. Save Lives.”, promoting the values of compassion, solidarity and collective responsibility.
As part of the campaign, a National Voluntary Blood Donation Awareness Programme was conducted on 23 September 2026 at the Assembly Ground. Students were introduced to the importance of blood donation and the significant role voluntary donors play in saving lives.
A Creative Writing Activity was conducted for the students of classes 6 to 8. Students expressed their thoughts creatively through thank-you letters, diary entries, poems and short stories from different perspectives, including those of blood recipients, grateful family members and young people aspiring to become donors when eligible.
On 27 September 2026, a Special Assembly was conducted by the kindergarten section as part of the awareness campaign. The young learners enthusiastically participated by preparing placards and badges to spread the message of voluntary blood donation.
The activities at IISM successfully created awareness among students about the importance of voluntary blood donation and encouraged them to embrace the spirit of Jan Bhagidari, compassion and social responsibility. The campaign served as a meaningful reminder that a single act of generosity can become a lifeline for someone in need.
