Sachin's 200th Test tickets sold out in 15 hrs

Cricket fans throng Wankhede Stadium hoping to get tickets

Unhappy over the less number of tickets being made available for sale, cricket fans have started gathering outside the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai, which will host the 200th and final test match of Sachin Tendulkar.

Unaware of online ticket sale, a number of fans have reached Mumbai from across the country, hoping to get tickets. “When I reached here on Tuesday morning, I was told that no tickets will be sold today. I don't know how to book tickets online,” said Kripal Chowdhary, who reached Mumbai from Surat. He said that he will wait till Wednesday, hoping to get tickets.

Krishnachand too has come from New Delhi, hoping to get tickets for this match. “They should have given tickets for each day, instead of season ticket. All these VIPs will not spend five days for this match as people like us will miss the chance to watch the last match of Sachin Tendulkar," he told The Hindu.

Kuntal Patil was among the very few who were successful in booking his ticket online on Monday. “I had lost hope, but decided to give it a last try during the nighttime. I couldn't believe when I saw a number of available tickets,” he said. The timing to distribute tickets to those who booked online has been rescheduled from morning 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

In a statement released by online booking website kyazoonga.com, the company said that all tickets were sold after 15 hours from the time it started to sell. It said that the website received massive traffic and the demand remained unabated till the very end.
