Policewoman rushes Vinod Kambli to hospital

 An on-duty traffic policewoman rushed cricketer Vinod Kambli to hospital after he complained of severe chest pain while driving his car at around 10.30 am on Friday.

He was taken to Lilavati hospital where he was admitted at around 11.30 am and was kept under observation.

"Yes, he was brought to the hospital today morning. He has been admitted and has been kept under observation," a senior official of the Lilavati Hospital told The Hindu. She refused to comment on the reason for which he was brought to the hospital.

Sujata Patil, senior police inspector at Matunga police station was on patrolling duty at Bandra when she noticed Mr Kambli in his white car. "The incident happened near Highway apartment in Bandra. He was driving from Chembur to his residence, when he stopped and complained of severe chest pain. We immediately rushed him to the hospital," Ms Patil told The Hindu.

She said that Mr Kambli was wailing in pain. "He probably had a heart attack. It was shocking to see him that way. He was in tremendous pain, and was pleading us to take him soon to the hospital. We rushed him to Lalavati. Meanwhile, we also informed his wife who reached there soon after," she said.
