India 270-5 at tea chasing record victory on 4th day

 

 

Auckland: Chasing 407 to win, India were 270 for five in their second innings at tea on day four of the first cricket Test against New Zealand at Eden Park, here on Sunday.

At the break, Rohit Sharma (19) and Mahendra Singh Dhoni (2) were at the crease with India still needing 137 runs with five wickets remaining and a session and a day left to play in the Test.

New Zealand 1st innings: 503 and 105.
India 1st innings: 202 and 270-5 in 81 overs (Shikhar Dhawan 115; Tim Southee 2/29, Neil Wagner 2/55).
