Sanju V Samson gets national call-up

Sanju V Samson
Kerala cricketer Sanju V Samon has been included in the Indian team for the one-day internationals and T-20 tournament against England.

He is the third Kerala player getting a call for the national squad. The 19-year-old is also the first wicket keeper-batsman from Kerala selected for national duty. Earlier, Kerala players Tinu Yohannan and Sreesanth had represented India as bowlers.

Sanju's excellent performance in previous two editions of IPL in Rajasthan Royals jersey had made him popular among the cricketing circles. Also, praises were showered on Sanju for his performance as a member in India A team in the recently concluded tour to Australia.

Given his fine show at the domestic leagues and also as a member of India A and U-19 squads, Sanju had been knocking at the doors of the national team for quite a while.

Along with Sanju, Railways leg-spin-bowling allrounder Karn Sharma has also been named in India's 17-man squad for the five ODIs and one-off Twenty20 against England.
