Double dhamaka for Virat Kohli
It was double treat for star Indian batsman Virat Kohli on Wednesday: while celebrating his 26th birthday the young cricketer was also nominated for the ICC ODI Cricketer of the Year Award. Kohli will be competing for the award against South Africans Quinton de Kock, AB de Villiers and Dale Steyn, who have also been shortlisted. Kohli had earlier won this award in the year 2012.
Wishes flooded social media on the occasion of the batsman’s birthday. Fans took to Twitter and Facebook to wish the cricketer with stats of his cricketing career. Off the field, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma have been grabbing headlines ever since they were first spotted together during the tour of New Zealand. However, Anushkha recently rubbished all rumours that the star couple were to tie the knot.
Kohli, in the last twelve months, has scored 982 runs averaging 49.1 in the 23 matches he has played.
