Kerala retain senior athletics meet title
Kerala retained the overall championship in the 55th National Senior Athletics Meet here on Monday. The state reigned supreme, bagging 177.5 points. Tamil Nadu came close behind with 146.5 points, while Haryana was at the third spot with 137 points at the meet.
Kerala won one gold, seven silver and one bronze medal on the ultimate day of the meet. The team's only gold on the last day came from the women's 4x100m relay as the team involving Sharbana Siddique, Jisna Mathew, R. Anu and Tintu Luka came out on top.
Haryana (99 points) won the men's title and Tamil Nadu finished runners-up with 76 points. The women's title went to Kerala (144.5 points) and Tamil Nadu came second with (70.5 points).
