Sehwag announces retirement from international cricket
Swashbuckling opener Virender Sehwag on Monday announced his retirement from all forms of international cricket.
Sehwag, who currently plays for Haryana in Ranji Trophy, said he would hang up his boots after this season.
Last week, pace bowler Zaheer Khan too had announced his retirement.
Sehwag, who played 104 Tests, has scored 8586 runs at an average of 49. (23 Test centuries and 32 fifties). From 251 ODIs, he made 8273 runs at an average of 35 (15 centuries and 38 fifties). He also played 19 T20 internationals.
He holds the Indian record for the highest Test score (319) and was the second man to score an ODI double century (219).
He last played for India in 2013 against Pakistan.
