ICSK Team A Bags The Jimmy George Volleball Tournament

“Teamwork makes the dream work.”

 The ICSK team B won the U-19 boys category Jimmy George Volleyball tournament 2019 which was held at Indian Central School on 11th October 2019. 

 Jimmy George was born on 8th March 1955 is considered one of the greatest volleyball players of all time and was a member of Indian men’s national volleyball team. He was the first Indian volleyball player to become a professional player to become a professional, and played club volleyball in Italy. 

Jimmy passed away in a car accident in Italy on 30th November 1987, at the age of 32. Following his death, the Jimmy George Foundation was established, which in 1989 instituted the Jimmy George Award for best sportsperson of Kerala. The government of Kerala dedicated its indoor stadium at Trivandrum, named as Jimmy George Indoor stadium.

 Five teams participated in the tournament that was held on 11th October 2019 at Indian Central School.

The ICSK Team A was the runner up. It is the third consecutive time that ICSK has won the tournament. The team was trained under the guidance of their coach Mr. Nins Peter[Physical Education Department]. Five teams participated in the tournament.
