FAIPS - DPS bags gold and bronze in CBSE Badminton Nationals

FAIPS students, Niyati Pradeep of Class 12 and Shirisha Nagapadma of Class 10 created history in the annuals of sports by winning the coveted Gold and Bronze medals respectively in the Under 19 and Under 17 Mixed Doubles category at the CBSE National Badminton Championship held in Varanasi from 3rd Dec to 7th Dec 2019.

Backed by talent, this golden girl of FAIPS began her historic journey under the able mentorship of Mrs. Anita Pillai and the P.E. Department of her school. Last year’s Bronze medalist at the Nationals, with rigorous disciplined practice sessions, Niyati stormed her way to the top position to win a prestigious gold at the Badminton National championship.

A grand assembly was organized in the school premises to felicitate the two badminton stars of FAIPS. The Principal, Mr. Ravi Ayanoli congratulated Niyati and Shirisha for their achievements and motivated all the budding sports enthusiasts to nurture their talents and to bring laurels to the Institution. For the first time since its inception, FAIPS deviated from its long tradition and culminated the assembly with a cake cutting to mark the advent of a gold star.

It was a proud moment for the entire FAIPS fraternity and kudos to the sports department.
