Mahalaxmi Iyer lent her voice for AR Rahman’s Jai Ho for the film Slumdog- Millionaire, an Oscar-winning song to her credit. Also hit film like Bunty Aur Babli, Dhoom 2, Fanaa, and Salaam Namaste. Mahalaxmi is known for her performances in songs like Kabhi Sham Dhale (Sur - The Melody of Life), Har Taraf (Rishtey), Chup Chup Ke (Bunty Aur Babli), Bol Na Halke Halke film (Jhoom Barabar Jhoom), Aaj Ki Raat (Don- The Chase Begins Again). Des Rangeela. Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy's first Hindi feature film Dus and Rahman sir's Dil Se. She worked with the top notch music directors of this country from Ilayaraja, Harris Jayaraj, Murthy, Guru Kiran & D.Imam.
She sang super hit songs of Tamil like “Vello Mala Re”, “Yaro Yarodi” and “Am Mele Oru Kanun”. She has lots of Hits number in different languages.
