Thanima Kuwait Gears Up for the 19th National Tug of War Championship on 28 Nov’2025 Kuwait:
Thanima Kuwait, a proud cultural collective of expatriate Malayalis in Kuwait, is in the final stages of preparing for the highly anticipated 19th National Tug of War Championship. The grand event, Onathanima 2025, will be held on November 28 at the Integrated Indian School, Abbasiya.
In connection with the competition, the organizers are set to present the “Pearl of the School” Awards, along with a vibrant cultural procession and musical performances that showcase Kerala’s rich artistic heritage. Designed to spark nostalgia and offer a sense of home away from home, the event is dedicated to the entire expatriate community in Kuwait.
The festivities will commence at 12:00 PM, followed by major cultural performances and the award ceremony starting at 5:00 PM. The highlight of the day will be the tug of war championship, where teams will compete for rarest of Asia’s largest rolling trophies, along with special awards for outstanding performances. Athletes have been undergoing intensive training for the past four months, demonstrating remarkable commitment while balancing work, family responsibilities and duty schedules. Their dedication remains one of Thanima’s core strengths.
