St. Gregorios Maha Edavaka Sapthathi Sangamam to be held at Puthuppally on August 29

Kuwait: As part of the 70th anniversary celebrations of St. Gregorios Indian Orthodox Maha Edavaka, Kuwait, the “Maha Edavaka Sapthathi Sangamam 2026” will be held on August 29 at the Puthuppally Church Auditorium.
The Sapthathi Sangamam will bring together former vicars, trustees, secretaries, managing committee members, parishioners who have settled permanently in Kerala after their years of expatriate life in Kuwait, and parishioners who are currently in Kerala on vacation. The programme will be inaugurated by Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, Speaker of the Kerala Legislative Assembly.
The gathering is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 29. H.G. Alexios Mar Yousabios Metropolitan, Metropolitan of the Diocese of Calcutta of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church; H.G. Dr. Joseph Mar Dionysius, Metropolitan of the Diocese of Kollam; H.G. Yuhanon Mar Dioscoros, Metropolitan of the Diocese of Kottayam; Rev. Fr. Dr. Thomas Varghese Amayil, Priest Trustee of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church; Rony Varghese Abraham, Lay Trustee; Adv. Biju Oommen, Church Secretary; and Members of the Kerala Legislative Assembly Chandy Oommen, Abin Varkey, and Reji Cherian will attend the event.
A devotional music programme featuring Christian devotional songs performed by Keys Band will be one of the major attractions of the Sapthathi Sangamam.
The organizers stated that the Maha Edavaka has reached its present distinguished position primarily through the dedicated and faith-filled collective efforts of its predecessors and former parish members. As part of the year-long 70th anniversary celebrations, numerous spiritual, cultural, and social programmes have been organized. The Sapthathi celebrations will conclude in January 2027.
