Kerala state Vidya Samunnithi scholarships

   

Kerala State Welfare Corporation for Forward Communities has invited applications from economically backward students of Forward Communities for different Vidya Samunnithi scholarships for 2015-16, for those pursuing various courses. Scholarships are available for High School, Higher Secondary, Diploma/Certificate, Professional and Non Professional courses for Bachelor & Master Programmes, for CA/CS/ICWA and for studies in reputed National level Educational institutions.
Eligibility
Applicant should be belonging to a forward community in Kerala state.
The annual family income of the applicant from all sources should not exceed Rs.2,00,000/-.
Those in receipt of other scholarship/stipend of the state or central government are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.
Applications can be submitted by those whose annual family income from all sources does not exceed Rs.2,00,000/-. However, priority will be for those with low income and also subject to availability of funds.
Applicant should have an account in a Nationalized/Scheduled Bank in his/her name. The amount of scholarship will be transferred only to the account of the applicant in case the applicant is awarded the scholarship.
 
The eligibility for the various scholarships is as follows:
High School: For High School studies, there are 20000 scholarships having value of Rs.2000/- each. Applicant should be studying in a Government/Aided High School.
Higher Secondary: For Higher Secondary studies, there are 14000 scholarships having value of Rs.3000/- each. Applicant should  be studying in a Government/Aided Institution.
Bachelor level: For Bachelor level Professional Courses there are 2500 scholarships for 2015-16 with value of Rs.7000/- each. For Non-Professional courses, there are 3500 scholarships of values Rs.5000/- each. The institution in which the applicant is undergoing the course should be an approved Government/Aided/Self- financing, Educational, Research and Scientific Institution recognized by any University in Kerala. Applicant should not have completed 35 years of age at the time of inviting applications for the scholarship. Applicant should have secured a first class or 60% marks or equivalent Grade at Plus Two/ Higher Secondary level.
Masters level: For Masters level Professional Courses; there are 1250 scholarships for 2015-16 with value of Rs.8000/- each. For Non-Professional courses, there are 1667 scholarships of values Rs.6000/- each. The institution in which the applicant is undergoing the course should be an approved Government/Aided/Self- financing, Educational, Research and Scientific Institution recognized by any University in Kerala.
Applicant should not have completed 35 years of age at the time of inviting applications for the scholarship. Applicant should have secured at least 60% marks in case of Science courses and at least 50% marks in case of Arts, Commerce, Law and Management courses at the Degree level.
Diploma/Certificate Courses: A total of 1000 scholarships having a value of Rs.6000/- per year will be given for undergoing Diploma/Certificate Courses in Government/Government approved Institutions. Applicants should not have completed 25 years of age at the time of inviting applications.
CA/CS/ICWA: For CA/CS/ICWA, there are 100 scholarships of value Rs.10,000/- each. Applicant should have passed the Intermediate level examination of the concerned course. Applicant should not have completed 35 years of age at the time of inviting of applications. Those who have received the scholarship earlier are not eligible to receive it again.
Courses at National Premier Institutions: Under the scheme, Tuition Fee, Examination Fee, Hostel Fees etc. will be reimbursed to the students undergoing courses in National level Premier Educational Institutions like IIT, IIM, IISc, NIT, National Law School, NIFT etc. A total of 120 Scholarships each amounting to Rs.50,000/- (maximum) are available under the scheme. Applicant should not have completed 35 years of age at the time of inviting of application.
 
How to apply
Applications can be submitted online at the related link at https://kswcfc.org/ till 18.12.2015.
Applicants will have to first register at https://kswcfc.org/index.php/scheme15-16. For registering, applicant will have to provide a valid email address or mobile number as username. He/she will receive the password in the given email address or mobile number. Using this, the applicant will have to login and proceed. On completion of registration he/she will get a membership number and the applicant has to proceed with this membership number. Those already having a member ship number can proceed with that.
 
As part of the application submission, applicants will have to upload scanned copies of the certificates specified for each course.
The documents whose scanned copies have to be up0loaded for each scholarship are as follows.
For High School/Higher Secondary, applicant will have to upload (i) Certificate issued by the institution where the applicant is undergoing the course (ii) Income Certificate from the Revenue authorities/Village Officer (iii) First Page of the bank pass book of the applicant.
For Degree level, applicant will have to upload (i) Certificate issued by the institution where the applicant is undergoing the course (ii) Income Certificate from the Revenue authorities/Village Officer (iii) Mark list of Plus Two/Equivalent (iv) First Page of the bank pass book of the applicant.
For Masters level, applicant will have to upload (i) Certificate issued by the institution where the applicant is undergoing the course (ii) Income Certificate from the Revenue authorities/Village Officer (iii) Mark list of Degree Course (iv) First Page of the bank pass book of the applicant.
For Diploma/Certificate Courses applicant will have to upload (i) Certificate issued by the institution where the applicant is undergoing the course (ii) Income Certificate from the Revenue authorities/Village Officer (iii) First Page of the bank pass book of the applicant.
For CA/CS/ICWA, applicant will have to upload (i) Certificate related to passing of the Intermediate course (ii) Certificate to prove the community (iii) Income Certificate from the Revenue authorities/Village Officer (iv) First Page of the bank pass book of the applicant.
For Courses at National level Premier Educational Institutions, applicant will have to upload (i) Certificate from the Head of the Institution (ii) Income Certificate from the Revenue authorities/Village Officer (iii) First Page of the bank pass book of the applicant.
The formats for the certificates showing the course being undergone are available in the website.
 
Applicants will be able to edit the entries in the submitted application till the last date for submission of application. Since there is no provision for renewal of the scholarships, those who have received the scholarship once, if interested in the scholarship in the subsequent year (except for CA/CS/ICWA), should apply afresh.
