Despite the pandemic has turned the world upside down, FAIPS like the world around, has managed to find its way out to keep the hustle going on. In order to get the students back into the groove of learning & being aware of the world around them, FAIPS conducted its popular inter-school quiz competition CTY (Catch Them Young) for the students of grades V & VI.

After a Preliminary round conducted on 1st December 2023 that had 32 teams from 16 Indian schools, six teams were shortlisted to combat against each other in the battle of minds at the Finals on 12th January 2023 at the FAIPS Multipurpose Hall. The highest-scoring six teams were: FAIPS, Indian Central School, ICSK-Amman Branch, New Gulf Indian School, Gulf Indian School & Indian Learners Own Academy.

The event was graced by Mr. K. G. Alexander, NBTC, who has been the main sponsor of CTY from its very first season & the respected Rev. K.C. Chacko, vicar of the Immanuel Marthoma Parish, was our Guest of Honour.
The Quiz Master of the event was Ms. Tiji Susan Alex. The questions were chosen from a mix of streams that covered Current Affairs, Literature, Entertainment, Sports & General Knowledge which put the students to the test across seven rounds of quizzing. Each nail-biting round is a test of the participant’s awareness of the world and a celebration of knowledge.

 

The Indian Central School slowly and steadily progressed to be crowned the winners of the 6th Catch Them Young Inter-School Quiz with a whopping total of 125 points. Indian Learners Own Academy (105 points) & Gulf Indian School (80 points) were crowned the First & Second Runners Up respectively.

The Catch Them Young quiz culminated with the prize distribution for the winners and the participants. They were awarded the Rino Alex Memorial trophies, certificates & gift hampers from NBTC and Starbucks.

Fondly remembering Late Mr Rino Alex, the Principal, Mr. Ravi Ayanoli conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Guest and all the dignitaries for gracing the occasion and making it an exciting event. He appreciated Ms. Tiji Susan Alex for organizing the event meticulously and thanked the FAIPS Quiz team for the smooth conduct of the event and the sponsors for their relentless support.
