BSK Cricket Tournament for Men, Women and Kids

Billava Trophy 2025 - Season 11

DSC 6687 11zon Billava Sangha Kuwait (BSK) successfully conducted their 11^th Season of Cricket Tournament “Billava Trophy” on Friday 7^th February 2025 at TRC New Ground, Reggai, Kuwait for Men, Women, and kids.

The daylong sporting event commenced at 6:30 am with the prayer and breaking of the coconut by Advisor Mr. Raghu C. Poojary.

President Mr. Amarnath Suvarna in his welcome speech conveyed his best wishes to the participating teams.

Under kids category two teams, Tulunadu Tigers and Tulunadu Kings took part in the tournament. Both teams played very well and finally Tulunadu Kings beat Tulunadu Tigers to win the trophy.

Following sportspersons won award under kids’ category:

Player of the Series: Master Nish K. Poojary - Tulunadu Kings

Player of the final Match: Master Nikilesh R. Poojary - Tulunadu Kings

Best Batter of the Series: Master Tejas P. Poojary - Tulunadu Tigers

Best Bowler of the Series: Master Tanuj P. Poojary - Tulunadu Tigers

Best Fielder of the Series: Master Leshanth - Tulunadu Tigers

Under Women’s category two teams namely White Panthers and Black Panthers participated in the tournament. Both teams had tough competition and finally White Panthers emerged as the winner.

Following sportspersons won award under women’s category:

Player of the Series: Ms. Shwetha S. Kotian – White Panthers

Best Batter of the Series: Ms. Raksha Sujith – Black Panthers

Best Bowler of the Series: Ms. Mamta Sandeep – Black Panthers

Under Men’s Category, the following ten teams participated in the tournament:

After having tough fights and challenging competitions in the league matches followed by two semifinals, Billava Tigers - B and Tulunadu Cricketers faced-off in the finals.

Finally, Tulunadu Cricketers clinched the trophy and Billava Tigers - B settled for Runners up.

13^th Match: Mr. Sunil Sundara Poojary – Billava Tigers - A

15^th Match: Mr. Prathap Poojary – Tulunadu Cricketers

Best Wicket Keeper: Mr. Sandesh Amin – Billava Tigers - B

All the teams exhibited great sportsman during the tournament and thoroughly entertained the spectators with tough competitions.

The MC for the award ceremony, Mr. Rajesh Kukian welcomed Chief guest Mr. Manoj Kumar and all the BSK members. Chief guest was welcomed with the bouquet of flower by President Mr. Amarnath Suvarna.

Chief guest Mr. Manoj Kumar, BSK President Mr. Amarnath Suvarna, Sports Secretary Mr. Anish Kotian and other BSK members presented the Trophies and Medals to the winning teams and the players.

Medals for the men and kids category were sponsored by Mr. Chitrek Bangera while for women category medals was sponsored by Mr. Anish Kotian. Design and printing of BSK Cricket flyer, stickers, etc. was done by Mr. Manoj Kumar. Other Sponsors for the event were by BSK Members Mr. Amarnath Suvarna, Mr. Suresh Kunder, Ms. Jyothi Sudheer, Ms. Jayalakshmi Vishwas, Mr. Jagadeesh Suvarna, Mr. Kiran Raj, Mr. Amith Sanil, Mr. Venugopal, Mr. Sukumar Karkera, Mr. Chethan Poojary, Mr. Mithun Vishwanath and Mr. Sharath Poojary.

The matches were fairly umpired by Mr. Antony Vijay, Mr. Dian Fernandes, Mr. Naveen, Mr. Santhosh Kunder and Mr. Sujay Naik while overall match progress was coordinated by Mr. Royal Pradeep Dcunha. The scores were efficiently monitored and recorded by Mr. Ashok Acharya.

BSK Committee honored the Sponsors, Coordinator, Umpires, and the Scorekeeper.

The best moments of the action-packed event were captured by Mr. Wilson. BSK served tasty lunch from M/s Mughal Tandoori restaurant.

President Mr. Amarnath Suvarna congratulated the winners and thanked all the teams for their participation. He offered his special thanks to the Sports Secretary Mr. Anish Kotian & Joint Secretary Mr. Chetan Poojary, committee members for organizing the tournament flawlessly and all the BSK members for their support in making the event successful & memorable.

The event concluded at 05:00 pm with the Vote of thanks by Sports Secretary Mr. Anish Kotian. An invitation was extended to all the BSK members to attend the “BSK Family Sports Meet” on 28-Feb’ 2025.
