Embassy of India organizes Blood Donation Camp in Kuwait (12 June 2026)

 

WhatsApp Image 2026 06 12 at 9.03.00 PM1 11zon1. The Embassy of India, Kuwait, in collaboration with Blood Donors Kerala (BDK) and the Federation of Indian Doctors (FID), organised a blood donation camp at Adan Hospital and Blood Bank on 12 June 2026, in observance of the World Blood Donor Day.

2.  Ambassador of India to Kuwait, H.E.

Mrs. Paramita Tripathi, and the Chief Guest, H.E. Sheikh Hamoud Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Governor of Al Ahmadi Governorate, inaugurated the Blood Donation Camp in the presence of representatives of Adan Hospital, the Central Blood Bank, and senior members of Indian community organisations.

3. Marking the commencement of the camp, H.E. Sheikh Hamoud Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah graciously became the first blood donor, underscoring his support for this humanitarian initiative and encouraging wider community participation. The camp witnessed enthusiastic response from members of the Indian community, reflecting the shared commitment of India and Kuwait to public health, community welfare, and humanitarian service.

4. The initiative witnessed an overwhelming response from the Indian community in Kuwait, with more than 500 persons registering, of whom more than 200 successfully donated blood. Members of the Indian community from diverse backgrounds enthusiastically participated in the humanitarian initiative, demonstrating solidarity, compassion, and a shared commitment to supporting Kuwait’s healthcare system.

5. Sincere appreciation was conveyed to all donors, volunteers, and supporting organisations whose dedicated efforts and enthusiastic participation contributed to the success of the initiative.

6. World Blood Donor Day is dedicated to

raising awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation and recognising the invaluable contribution of blood donors in saving lives. The observance serves as a reminder of the constant need for safe blood and encourages communities across the world to support healthcare systems through regular and voluntary blood donation.

7. The Embassy of India together with Indian community organisations in Kuwait regularly organise blood donation drives, medical camps, plantation drives and welfare-oriented initiatives. These initiatives reflect the deep-rooted friendship and strong people-to-people ties between India and Kuwait, while highlighting the Indian community’s contribution to humanitarian and social causes in Kuwait.
