IMA Summer Islamic Classes (SIC) 2026 Concludes with a Celebration of Learning, Faith and Character
The Indian Muslim Association (IMA) successfully concluded its Summer Islamic Classes (SIC) 2026 with a Felicitation Function held on Saturday, 23 August 2026 at the ICSK Senior Branch Auditorium in Salmiya. The Event drew an enthusiastic Gathering of Parents & Children, reflecting the strong community interest in Islamic Education & Character development.
The program opened with a Quran recitation by Master Yusuf Mathauddin, setting a spiritual tone for the Evening. Distinguished Guests, including Mr. Abdulaziz Al Duaij, Chairman of Najat Schools & Mr. Abdul Rahman Shaikh, Chairman of ICSK, attended the Function and expressed their encouragement & support for Educational Initiatives of this nature.
A 26-Year Legacy Revived
IMA President Mr. Mohammed Umar Falahi highlighted the vital role of Islamic Education in shaping Children's Lives & Character. Mr. Rizwan Danish, Principal of the Summer Islamic Classes, recalled the Program’s origins in 1994, when visionary IMA members Mr. Farid Choudhry, Mr. Khaleelullah Khan and Mr. Syed Ahmad Ali initiated the Educational Endeavor.
Following a Five-Year hiatus, the program returned in 2026 under the theme “TRAIN THEM YOUNG.” Held from 20 June to 15 August, the classes attracted 203 students, with particularly strong participation from LKG and Grade 1, giving young learners an early Foundation in Islamic Knowledge & Values.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
The Summer Islamic Classes offered a broad curriculum covering Hifz, Seerat-un-Nabi ﷺ, Fiqh & Urdu. The program also incorporated experiential learning through Educational Outings, including a visit to the Kuwait Oil Company Museum for Senior Students and an outing to Boulevard, Salmiya, for Junior Participants, emphasizing experiential learning.
Students Showcase Their Learning and Creativity
The Felicitation Function featured a range of Student Presentations that reflected both Learning & Creativity. Highlights included Nasheed Recitations; a speech by Master Yousuf on “Balancing Faith and Modern Life”; a skit on “Characteristics of a Muslim” a podcast presentation on “Digital Akhlaq”; and a rendition of “Song Sing Children of the World.”
A Community-Wide Effort
Mr. Rizwan Danish expressed heartfelt appreciation to the IMA Salmiya Unit, describing its members as a dedicated team that worked tirelessly behind the scenes to revive and deliver the program. Special Appreciation was extended to Board members Mr. Mohammed Hasan Noor & Mr. Yusuf Chorghay, together with both the Vice Principals, Sister Tabassum Farooq Khan and Sister Afroz Sultana for their inspiration, commitment and hard work.
The Organizers also acknowledged the dedication of the Teachers & Support Staff, the invaluable support of Parents, and the ICSK Management for providing the school premises for the program.
Looking Ahead
The Event concluded with the distribution of Prizes & Certificates to participating Students, followed by a Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr. Abdul Qadeer.
In his closing remarks, Mr. Rizwan Danish reminded the Students that “Islam is not something we learn only in a classroom. Islam is something we live.” He encouraged them to continue learning, reciting the Quran, following the Sunnah and putting Islamic values into practice in their daily lives.
IMA remains committed to nurturing future generations through Islamic knowledge, character-building and meaningful educational experiences, while creating lasting memories for children and families in the community.
The Grand Success of the Summer Islamic Classes 2026 and with intense demand by the Parents, will provide an alternate option for learning during Weekends for Children as IMA Weekend Islamic Schools starting from mid-September 2026.
In response to the strong demand from parents following the Grand Success of the Summer Islamic Classes, IMA is going to start IMA Weekend Islamic Schools from 19th September 2026. The initiative will provide an additional option for Children to continue their Islamic Learning during Weekends.
