Embassy of India celebrates the 11th Ayurveda Day in Kuwait

1. The Embassy of India in Kuwait organized the 11th Ayurveda Day on 23 September 2026 at the Embassy premises. The celebration brought together more than 200 Ayurveda practitioners, wellness experts, representatives of Ayurveda-related entities and members of the Indian community in Kuwait. It featured expert talks, presentations, exhibitions and cultural performances highlighting the benefits of Ayurveda and its relevance to holistic health and well-being.
2. Ayurveda, one of the world’s oldest systems of healthcare, is an integral part of India’s traditional knowledge and wellness heritage. Based on a holistic approach to health, Ayurveda emphasizes maintaining a balance between the body and mind through appropriate diet, lifestyle, daily routines and other wellness practices. Its focus on preventive healthcare and healthy living has contributed to growing interest in Ayurveda and other traditional systems of wellness across the world.
3. The programme commenced with a video message of the Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, Shri Baidya Kotecha. Ambassador of India to Kuwait, Mrs. Paramita Tripathi, addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of Ayurveda as part of India’s traditional knowledge and healthcare heritage and its growing global recognition.
4. The programme featured expert talks focusing on the relevance of Ayurveda to contemporary health and lifestyle concerns. The Ministry of Ayush designated two speakers who delivered talks through video - Dr. C. Ashwin Chandra on “Ayurveda for Stress Management and Better Sleep”, highlighting Ayurvedic approaches to managing stress, improving sleep and promoting overall well-being, and Dr. Amrish Prakash Dedge. Embassy and subsequently disseminated through the Embassy’s social media platforms to further promote awareness and outreach of the celebrations.
5. Mr. Roopesh Ravi made a presentation on the benefits of Ayurveda and its role in promoting holistic health and well-being. Dr. Gauri Bhagwat delivered an expert talk on “Ayurveda to Prevent or Manage Lifestyle Diseases and Preventive Health”, focusing on the role of Ayurveda in preventive healthcare and in supporting the prevention and management of lifestyle-related health concerns.
6. A Kalari-Yoga performance by Centre for India Studies (CIS) in collaboration with KMS Kalari was presented which showcased elements of India’s traditional practices of Kalaripayattu and Yoga and their emphasis on physical discipline, balance and overall well-being.
7. An exhibition on Ayurveda and healthy living was organized, with participation from Ayurveda-related entities in Kuwait. The exhibition showcased Ayurvedic products, wellness practices and healthy preparations and provided visitors an opportunity to learn about different aspects of Ayurveda and their application in everyday life. Healthy food stalls were also set up at the venue, showcasing a variety of nutritious preparations and highlighting the importance of balanced and healthy dietary practices as part of overall well-being.
8. The celebration of the 11th Ayurveda Day highlighted the growing awareness of Ayurveda and holistic wellness in Kuwait and provided an opportunity to further promote India’s traditional knowledge systems among the wider community. The event also reflected the Embassy’s continuing efforts to strengthen people-to-people engagement between India and Kuwait through greater awareness of India’s rich traditions of health, wellness and preventive care.
