The person who believes in “The more you persist, in any endeavor, the greater self-discipline and self-confidence will be equipped” - comes a simple self-introduction from a man who has already scaled great heights in his young career so far!!
 
Mr. D. Sai Venkata Subba Rao, from Palakol in Andhra Pradesh, is now the Financial Control Director of VIVA Kuwait, the second largest Mobile Telecom company in Kuwait. He is currently responsible for the Budgeting and Planning, Financial Reporting and Revenue assurance functions of the multi-million dinar enterprise.  His fame and success has made a role-model for all youngsters.   
 
At the young age of 22 years, Sai has qualified the Chartered Accountancy profession and joined in MRF Tyres Company, Chennai as an Internal Auditor. After worked for three years, he came to Kuwait in 2004 and joined Pricewaterhouse Coopers as Senior Associate in Audit department.
 
After 1½ years, he joined Burgan Bank as Supervisor Finance Reporting Manager.  When VIVA was commercially launched in Kuwait as a third mobile telecom operator, he joined as Senior Finance Manager. Many people do not have the self-confidence to accept higher responsibilities and face challenges that come along with an unfamiliar work environment in a new organization.  “You should have self-confidence that you have the talent to succeed anywhere in the world”.
 
The self-confidence of Sai stems from his excellent academic and practical knowledge. Whether it is winning a gold medal by scoring centum in his school exams or by becoming an all-India rank-holder in CA examinations, Sai always put in 100% of his efforts in learning and gain experience in various frontiers.
 
In addition to his B.Com (Nagarjuna Univeristy), M.Com (Andhra University), FCA (ICAI), Sai is also holding a Global MBA degree from Manchester Business School, U.K.  “To reach the top levels in the corporate circle, you have to excel in your studies and pursue professional education earnestly”, advises Sai.
 
The career of Sai brought him in contact with a wide-range of people from different walks of life. After a certain stage, he understood the academic qualification alone won’t allow to move up on the corporate ladder and hence to equip leadership skills he joined in Toastmasters club to nurture his leadership and communication skills. While at Burgan Bank, Sai was awarded as ‘Best team player’ and played a major role in the crucial due diligence exercise by the bank to acquire six regional MENA banks. 
 
Whether it is a task of training the staff on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) or making a presentation to the Board, mixing with people from different parts of the world and belonging to different strata became a routine matter for Sai. He is currently the Secretary of ICAI Kuwait Chapter after serving as an executive committee member for 2 years. He also actively involves in the cultural activities and currently the Advisor to Telugu Kala Samithi (TKS Kuwait). “Networking with people is of utmost importance if you want to progress in your career” says Sai.  Incidentally, he is a multi-linguist and can speak in English, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Arabic.
 
Sai, the Financial Control Director of VIVA, Kuwait muses on his happy young days at Palakol. “My father Seshayya, a small business man, and my mother Indira brought up me and my two sisters”. These early days probably made Sai develop a kind heart and helping soul. Even now, Sai, through his father, renders financial help and support to old age homes back in India and as well practices yoga and spiritual activities.
 
Sai is happily married to Lakshmi Sudha and has two daughters – Nitya Hasini and Tanishka studying in 2nd Standard and UKG at DPS, Kuwait.
 
To make VIVA the number one company in Kuwait and scale up further in the corporate ladder is his career ambition. To help the society by making significant contribution with available resources is his life ambition.   With his knowledge, self-confidence and networking strategy, he is sure to succeed in both personal and professional life.
