Hameed Rafeek is a successful entrepreneur, who hails a degree in Engineering. Like most triumphant and lucrative scholars, Hameed’s memoir was also another tale of rags-to-riches story. Born in Nagercoil, from a moderate family, where faith was restored only to the divine to make their ends meet.
After completing the engineering degree at RVS College of Engineering & Technology, Dindigul in the year 1994 he has started his career journey to Middle East in the year 1997. He gained his work experience with reputed clients like PDO & ARAMCO at Oman and Saudi Arabia respectively.
He has migrated to Kuwait in the year 2005 and began to work as a Planning Engineer at HOT Engineering & Construction Co, Kuwait. He secured the PMP (Project Management Professional) credential, one of the globally renowned certification during the year 2007. This was when prosperity started knocking at his door where he was promoted in steps to various higher positions and finally reached the position of Division Manager - Planning.
Soon after, he quit his job and optimistically started his own business on Abrasives and Corrosion Control. Though there were a few initial hiccups, his business became thriving and prosperous. By the grace of Almighty, he has now expanded his business to various countries.
Taking a peak on Hameed’s other grounds of interest, he is also an eminent speaker on Project Management. He has delivered several technical presentations & articles on Project Management in various International Conferences held in different countries such as Bahrain, Malaysia, India and China. He is also an instructor of aspirants who attempt Project Management Professional (PMP) exam. Leading the efforts to host ‘Pongal Vizha’ in January 2015 by combining most of the Tamil associations in Kuwait is memorable, he exclaims.
Hameed’s family consists of a small nuclear family. Married to Sabura Hameed, who is a lawyer and also an endearing writer of Tamil verses. The couple is blessed with two children – Harshath who is just commencing his Engineering studies and a talented Photographer bagged several prizes for photography. Hameed’s daughter Sanaa is a prominent singer, freelance writer and studying 10th Standard at Kuwait.
Hameed finally shares his life motto saying that the key to success is in nowhere but always in our determination. When you are confused to make a choice, go as what your heart says.
