New India Assurance company started its operations in Kuwait in 1953, well before the establishment of any local insurance company. It has succesfully faced tough challenges, including the invasion of Kuwait, during its seven decades of operations and has recorded impressive growth and progress inspite of all constrains. Mr.R.D.Baliga, has recently assumed charge as the Resident Manager of New India Insurance Company in Kuwait and is all set to take it to further heights
Mr.R.D.Baliga, son of Mr.B.Devadas Baliga (a retired Canara Bank Officer), hails from Bantwal, near Mangalore. Mr.R.D.Baliga graduated in Commerce from SDM College, Ujire, near Darmasthala and completed his CA in 1986. He worked in Grasim Industries belonging to Birla group before joining New India Assurance company in 1987 .
After gaining rich experience and expertise in Accounts and Administration over a period of 14 years, he moved over to Marketing side in 2001 as Senior Branch Manager at Mangalore. The explosive business growth achieved by him brought him many awards and promotions at regular intervals. He served as Divisional Manager at Udupi in 2007 and was further promoted as Senior Divisional Manager in 2008. Due to his consistent track-record of delivering excellent business results, hardwork and loyalty to the company, he was picked by the top management for heading the Kuwait operations of New India Insurance Company.
Mr.Baliga is proud that his values and qualities have been recognised by New India Assurance company and is happy to be in Kuwait. He is a calm person but demands perfection in work from all. He maintains his cool in difficult situation and motivates and assists his colleagues to perform better. Hence, he is liked by his subordinates as well as superiors.
Mr.Baliga is married to Mrs.Jyothi, a lecturer in Suratkal, and is blessed with a son and a daughter - Ashwin, studying Mechanical Engineering at Mysore and Sangeetha, studying Computer Science at Karkala. Mr.Baliga is interested in reading and listening to music. Mr.Baliga, a proud and patriotic Indian, wants India to weed out bad elements and work purposely to move up in the global pedestal to reach the top slot.
