Damodaran Prabhakar born on Sunday the June 11, 1966 hails from the well known Mathradan Tharavad House of Payyanur District, Kerala State, India. His father Mr. Mathradan Damodaran (hailing from the Mathradan Taravad) and his mother P.Sarojini Amma (hailing from Pukudi Vanadil Tharavad) were fully settled in Trichy, Tamil Nadu. His father basically a railway employee later owned and managed a restaurant at Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited (BHEL) Township campus and his mother was a house wife managing the scene behind the success screen.
 
D. Prabhakar and his younger sister D. Jayasree both had their schooling at the BHEL Township campus, Trichy. He excelled both in academics and athletics.
 
He always followed his father and kept him as his role model. He was always with his father assisting him in the restaurant management and also involved in decision making. Business techniques and handling administrative issues were induced into his blood from the childhood days. This initiative has given him a high level of confidence in taking up challenges in life. Taking risk with calculated moves and dedication to selected assignment is his passion. “Try until you succeed” was his policy which made him grow to elevated levels.   
 
D. Prabhakar is a Mechanical Engineer graduated in the year 1988 and has duel master degree to his credit in M.S. (Engineering Management) and M.B.A. (Marketing Management). He is also a Gold Medallist in Engineering and is a certified Chartered Engineer (India). Besides the above he has completed various PG Diploma courses in Contracts Management, Quality Management System, Marketing Management, etc.,
 
He has undergone various professional and management development training programs, Commercial & Financial Management Programme, Proposal Management Training, ISO / ISM - Internal Auditor Course etc., Further he also successfully completed the IQCS Certification for ISO 9000:2000 LEAD AUDITOR Training course conducted by IRCA, UK. He is also holding membership with ASME, IEI, IME, SE, IIW, IIPE, etc.
 
He has a wide range of experience with more than 25 years to his credit in the field of proposals and tendering management, contracts management, administration management, project control and construction management including corporate level involvement at senior management level.
 
He started his professional career in the year 1988 with BHEL, Trichy, India and later moved on to Cethar Vessels Limited, wherein he gained a wide knowledge in design of boilers and IBR design. Further he joined SPIC, Chennai in the year 1994 and later he was deputed to TECHNIP India, a joint venture company formed by TECHNIP, Italy and SPIC, Chennai.
 
In 2001 he moved to Kuwait to take a job with Khalil Bahman, a leading fabrication company in Kuwait. Presently he is the Chief Operating Officer at O&G Engineering WLL (Industrial Division), an organisation established in 1967 with diversified services and pursuing new technologies with a difference. His intelligence and perseverance has held the key factor to his overwhelming success in the organisation and continues to be admired by both admirers and opponents.
 
A concern for social and welfare issues complements his keen interest in being associated with various Indian associations like TEF, Frontliners, NSS, Foke etc., He is highly regarded by his well wishers and indeed only few can match his stature.
 
His wife Meena Prabhakar, a post graduate is a home maker. Her supportive nature and determined thoughts has helped in a long way to achieve his desired goals.  
 
They are blessed with a daughter, Krishna Prame Prabhakar who has completed her class XII at FAIPS, Kuwait. She is a classical Bharathanatyam dancer. She excels both in academics and other co-curricular activities at school.
