ICSK Junior launches environment-friendly E-MAGAZINE
It was a memorable assembly for the students of the Indian Community School Kuwait, Junior branch. The formal release of the first edition of the quarterly newsletter of ICSK Junior, ‘PETALS’ was held at the school premises on 15th Jan, 2014. A benchmark in the history of ICSK Junior Branch, the Principal In-Charge Mrs. Sherly Dennis welcomed the esteemed guests, briefed on the new venture, launched and acknowledged the untiring effort of the students under the guidance of teachers. In celebration of the assembly with a difference, the school choir, complete with accompanying instruments, presented a melodious number apt for the occasion.
The significance of bringing out the E-magazine from cost and environment perspective was highlighted by Master Elwin George. Honorary Secretary to the ICSK Board of Trustees Mr. Vijay Karayil, congratulated students for their contribution and mentioned that the novelty of this project is that it reaches every home with little effort. In the presence of the honorary board member Mr. Sherin Mani, PAC representative to the BOT from Junior Branch Mr. George Mathew , PAC members Mr. Anil Attuva, Mr.Girish Murali, Mr. Biju Abraham and Mr. K.P. Suresh , Principal In Charge and the Vice Principal , Mr. Vijay Kariyal released ‘ PETALS’ with a click of a button .
Petals, as the name suggests, symbolizes the colors, enthusiasm, vibrancy and the fervor present in the Junior branch. It hopes to serve as a window to give a sneak peak to the happenings in the portals of the institution of repute. Mr. Sherin Mani who heads the Public Relation committee in the Board, in his address, appreciated the effort of students and advised that every child should showcase his or her creativity and talent in some form through the magazine. Mr. George Mathew, in his address, applauded the students correlating their talent to the petals that bloom into a pretty flower. Students of class V and VI enthralled the audience with a well choreographed dance. The Vice-Principal Mrs. Gomathy Murthy proposed the vote of thanks, applauded the support of the management, the strength of the teaching fraternity and stressed on the core value of humility as the cornerstone of success for students to emulate. The first special assembly of year 2014 came to a close with the National Anthem.
