When The Roles Were Reversed - Self-Governance Day at ICSK
“Teaching is a very noble profession that shapes the character, caliber, and future of an individual. If the people remember me as a good teacher, that will be the biggest honor for me,"rightly remarked Dr A.P.J Abdul Kalam.
The School Senate presented a spectacular programme dedicated to the teachers. Principal and Senior Administrator, Dr V. Binumon in his address guided the students to aim for a ‘Powerful Burning Desire’.
The ICSK family showed its dedication and respect towards teachers by conducting the Self-Governance Day on 24th September, 2018. The roles were reversed and the senior students of ICSK became teachers for the day.
Under the excellent and efficient leadership of Master Mosses Kurian, President, the school senate took over the functioning of the day. The importance of the day was heralded through a meticulously organized general assembly, which gave the day an amazing kick off. The President rendered a speech of gratitude towards our teachers and school-management, honoring the hard-work and dedication they directed towards the students. He also extended his best wishes to all the 12th graders who would be taking up the role of teachers for the day.
Various entertaining activities were organized for the teachers in the auditorium. Master U. D Stephen presented an exemplary dance performance which dazzled the audience immensely. A video presentation thanking all the teachers for all their work and support, prepared by the students touched the hearts of all who were gathered there.
Meanwhile, the seniors were busy teaching the juniors and they were all having a very exciting time. The student-teachers were organized into groups of two and each person was given the freedom to choose their own topic for the session. Each student-teacher was evaluated on their teaching and vocational skills by a set of evaluators.
The day proved to be resourceful and the each student experienced the art of teaching, filling their hearts with gratitude towards their teachers, who nurtured them in their academic life.
