Indian Education School, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kuwait has always been a trail blazer in the field of education in terms of initiatives be it on the academic or non-academic front.

Amidst the pandemic COVID 19, IES without any compromise set yet another trend by conducting its first online PTM for students of classes10 and 12, from April 18th -21st. The platform witnessed the remarkable attendance of over 95% parents and children.

The Principal of the school Mr. T. Premkumar in his introductory note welcomed the parents to the novel online PTM and shared the objectives and importance of the meeting. The subject teachers then presented an overview of the progress of the classes, the involvement of students and suggestions for improvement. The teachers expressed their contentment in the undivided attention of the students during the online classes, and their active participation with greater enthusiasm than in the regular classrooms. This was followed by an interactive session and the floor was open to the parents for feedback, queries and suggestions. The parents did not forget to place on records the initiatives of the school and expressed their gratitude to the school for having come up with the idea of quality Distance Interactive Programme.

The Chairman of the school Mr. N.K. Ramachandran Menon in his address advised the students to utilize this crisis time as an opportunity to become independent learners. · He further added that students must realize that this situation has taught them that one will not get everything at all times and one must learn to adapt to the changing times. · He asked them to be focused, more responsible and sensible. He instructed them to be punctual, attentive and regular for the virtual classes. · He also requested parents to monitor the students intermittently while the classes were in progress.

The Senior Vice Principal, Mrs. Anselma Tessy wrapped up the meeting by thanking the parents for their presence and also reiterated the importance of parent involvement and cooperation with the school especially during this period of crisis, for the benefit of their children.
