Bhavans SIS cambridge wing organized a session on Child and Adolescent Attitude and Behavior
Bhavans Smart Indian School, Kuwait is always concerned about the well-being and holistic development of its young learners. All their initiatives cater to the wellness of the students in their period of school life, with specific emphasis on health and developmental needs and rights. SIS teachers play an important role to ensure the young minds live, study, work and socialize in a supportive, healthy, and safe environment that protects their mental health and reduces their engagement in risk behaviours. In this regard, Smart Indian School, Cambridge Wing with the aim of shaping ideas and attitudes that will form the base of a healthy and happy life arranged an online session for students and teachers in the Zoom platform with an eminent and experienced Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Feba Percy Paul on Sunday, 12th February 2023 on the topic “Child and Adolescent Attitude and Behaviour” from 9.00 a.m. to 10.00 a.m. with the hope to provide their inquisitive learners the required guide to lead a positive life.
The session commenced with an encouraging note by the school Principal Mr. Mahesh Iyer who urged the students to do a self analyse of themselves by actively participating in the session, he acknowledged the presence of the expert through an e-certificate as a token of appreciation and recognition for taking time from her busy schedule to engage the students with relevant information regarding attitude and behaviour. Ms. Anju Jacob, the School Counselor extended a warm and cordial welcome and introduced the speaker to the audience.
In her session Dr. Feba also known as the Doctor of the Mind impressed the listeners with an Acrostic of the word ATTITUDE which shed light to the real meaning of the word in psychological terms. The active participation of the students was encouraging and supported the smooth conduct of the session. Dr. Feba from the mere definition of explaining the age and meaning of adolescent captured the attention of the listeners through her impressive presentation.
Furthermore, Dr. Feba explained the cause and consequence of one’s behaviour and how anger serves as an unacceptable tool which provokes an individual to misbehave in life. Anger Controlling techniques and ways to improve one’s lifestyle was explained. The need to maintain record in the form of books and cards to monitor the anger level of students under different circumstance which would be beneficial to teachers was explained.
The session concluded with convincing answers to the queries raised by the students and the need to reduce their screen time which serves as an antigen to their successful growth and development.
Ms. Bhavitha Bright, The Vice Principal of the Cambridge wing in her closing thought mentioned the topic presented was the need of the hour and motivated the students to absorb the essential content that would help them to be more active and creative thinkers in future.
Syed Muhammad Mujtaba a student of grade 9 IGCSE concluded the session with the vote of thanks.
