ICSK Khaitan celebrates International Day of Yoga

03 11zonThe International Day of Yoga was celebrated in The Indian Community School Kuwait-Khaitan by The Embassy of India, Kuwait for students of grades 11 and 12 on Wednesday, 5th June 2024. With a commitment to nurturing holistic well-being and cultural exchange, the embassy curated an enlightening experience aimed at introducing the profound benefits of yoga, breathing exercises, and essential asanas to the young minds present.

The event commenced with a serene Islamic prayer. Principal K.G. Shirsath extended a warm welcome to all attendees, emphasizing the inclusivity of the celebration and the transformative power of yoga in fostering physical & mental well-being. In his address, the chief guest Shri Manas Raj Patel, First Secretary, The Embassy of India-Kuwait, highlighted the significance of yoga as a holistic practice transcending cultural boundaries, promoting health and inner peace. Emphasizing its relevance in modern times, Mr. Patel encouraged all present to embrace yoga as a path to holistic wellness. The yoga instructor Mr. Abhay Kumar Verma elucidated the importance of yoga, breathing exercises, and key asanas in promoting physical flexibility, mental clarity, and emotional balance. Stressing the need for regular practice, the instructor demonstrated various asanas and breathing techniques, encouraging participants to incorporate them into their daily routines. It was well explained in detail, illustrating their respective benefits for physical and mental health. The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from all students, reflecting their eagerness to explore and embrace the health benefits of yoga.

Dr. Vinod Kumar Kaushik expressed gratitude to all participants, organizers and volunteers for their contributions to the success of the event.

The International Yoga Day celebration concluded on a note of unity and inspiration, with participants reinvigorated in their commitment to embracing yoga as a pathway to holistic wellness. This initiative not only showcased India's rich cultural heritage but also underscored the universal appeal and relevance of yoga in fostering physical & mental wellness as 21st June is officially declared by the United Nations as International Day of Yoga.
