"Talent is not something you find; it’s something you discover and nurture." With this guiding vision, Bhavans Smart Indian School hosted the Odyssey Talent Hunt 2024 on November 7, 2024. This grand event brought together students and parents in a vibrant celebration of creativity, fostering an atmosphere where participants showcased their unique abilities in an encouraging and supportive environment.
The Odyssey Talent Hunt 2024 was graced by the Chief Guest, Mr. Sriram Gopalakrishnan, an esteemed auditing expert with nearly three decades of experience across Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and India. Also present were the school’s Principal, Mr. Mahesh Iyer; Academic Coordinator Bhavans Kuwait, Mr. Santosh Chungath, Mrs. Albin Daisy, Vice Principal (CBSE), Mrs. Bhavitha Bright, Vice Principal (Cambridge), Academic Coordinator for the Primary Wing, Mrs. Thushara Sanjeev. Their presence highlighted the significance of nurturing young talent within the school community.
The event commenced with a serene recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by the Kuwait National Anthem. The SIS choir captivated the audience with the Odyssey theme song, setting an inspiring tone for the day. The head girl extended a warm welcome to all dignitaries, and a spirited welcome dance by Grade 1 students further enlivened the atmosphere, marking the start of an exciting journey.
Following the inaugural ceremony, Chief Guest Mr. Sriram Gopalakrishnan addressed the gathering, offering insights that left an indelible impact on students and educators alike. His words underscored the importance of creativity, passion, and resilience. As a gesture of gratitude, Principal Mr. Mahesh Iyer presented a memento to the Chief Guest.
The Odyssey Talent Hunt comprised six categories based on age, each tailored to highlight diverse skills. Category I included Visual Pot Decoration, Eco Heroes, and Speaking Tree. Categories II to V offered a range of performances, including Dynamic Duo, Melodic Harmony, Golden Voice, and Fashion Fusion. Category VI, dedicated exclusively to parents, featured activities like Fashion Fusion, Flame-Free Feast, and Dynamic Duo, showcasing a strong community spirit.
Each performance unfolded across designated areas on the school campus, organized meticulously by Event Coordinators Ms. Reka Raveendran and Ms. Sandhya Babu. Their planning ensured a smooth flow, and participants had the opportunity to engage meaningfully with their peers while displaying their talents.
The day concluded with a grand valedictory function. Chief Guest Mrs. Suparna Saha delivered an inspiring speech, commending the participants for their hard work and passion. Her words uplifted the entire audience, reinforcing the school’s commitment to nurturing talent.
The prize distribution ceremony followed, where winners from each category were recognized. The house trophy was awarded to Satya House, with the housemaster, mistress, and captain accepting the honour. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, marking the end of a memorable day.
