Allons à la fête ( Inter – School French Fest)
Gulf Indian School hosted ‘Allons à la fête, the first ever inter-school French Fest on 13 November 2024, where students from 13 Indian schools participated with great enthusiasm. The distinguished guests of the fest included Mrs. Safaa Lahroud, Education Officer, French Institute of Kuwait and Mrs. Maya Ayach, Mr. Anwar Hamad, and Mr. Maged Shaaban Darwish Ali, French educators of various prestigious schools in Kuwait. They were also the judging panel for all the three segments of ‘Allons à la fête - La Musique Mercredi, Foire D’art, and Exposition Multimèdia Français.
The introduction to the Fest delivered by the students in both French and English language captivated the audience. Miss. Sugandh Kakkar, Faculty, Department of French at GIS welcomed everyone to the fest and introduced the guests to the audience. The dazzling fusion dance and the group song in the language of French by the students not only showcased their skill but also the power of blending cultures that left the audience in awe. Principal Dr Prashant Vasudev addressed the gathering and in his speech appreciated the students for taking part in the competition, emphasizing the importance of learning languages in our global society. He further added that these events allow students to show their abilities, learn from peers, and explore various cultures. He also encouraged the students to embrace the challenges and give their best. The judges were honoured and mementos were given as token of appreciation and gratitude. The participants showcased their abilities and talents, by engaging in a spirited competition.
The final session commenced by inviting all the participants to the auditorium, where they were warmly congratulated for their enthusiastic involvement. The results of the competitions were announced, and the winners were awarded trophies, medals and certificates. The event was concluded by expressing gratitude to everyone who contributed to the remarkable success of the event. A well organised and smoothly conducted event has certainly given the participants a lot of memorable moments to cherish.
