IMG 1286On the crisp and enchanting evening of December, with a chilly winter breeze in the air, the much-anticipated Annual Day of the Primary Department of India International School, themed 'The Journey of Emotions,' unfolded in all its splendor. This extraordinary celebration was a vibrant mosaic of creativity, energy, and inspiration, brought to life by the dazzling talents of our blooming buds in the primary department.

The Annual Day celebration was elevated by the gracious presence of our distinguished Sponsor and Chief Guest, Mr. Aws Al Shaheen, along with Guest of Honour our visionary Managing Director, Mr. P.A. Salman Ibrahim, accompanied by the esteemed Director, Mr. Malayil Moosa Koya, and PACE Group Representative Mr. Hisham, Operations Manager, Mr. Mohammed Iqbal, The Principal, Mrs. K.V. Indulekha; Vice-Principal, Dr. Saleem Kundungal; and Headmistress, Mrs. Sridevi Neelakannan. Coordinators, Mr. Shihab Nilgiri, Mrs. Prema Balasubramanyan, and Mrs. Najiyah Kader. The event was further enriched by the enthusiastic participation of our esteemed parents, devoted teachers, and vibrant students, whose presence turned the celebration into a truly unforgettable experience.

The program commenced on a spiritual note with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Yahya, invoking the blessings of Almighty Allah. This was gracefully followed by its eloquent translation by Minhaj Fatima. The solemnity of the moment seamlessly transitioned into a patriotic fervor with the rendition of the Kuwait National Anthem, imbuing the occasion with a sense of unity and national pride.

On behalf of India International School, warm congratulations were extended to His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, on the auspicious occasion of the first anniversary of his accession to power. The school also proudly congratulated the Honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, on his historic visit to Kuwait. A message of respect and admiration for the visionary leadership of both Kuwait and India was prominently displayed on the screen, serving as a meaningful visual tribute to mark this momentous occasion.

The event commenced with an inspiring welcome address by our esteemed Principal, Mrs. K.V. Indulekha. She began her speech by honoring the memory of the founder of the PACE Group, the late Dr. P.A. Ibrahim Haji, a renowned multifaceted personality, philanthropist, and visionary leader. With eloquence and warmth, she extended heartfelt gratitude to the distinguished guests, parents, teachers, and students. Her words captured the essence of the day’s celebration, setting a tone of excitement and unity for the event ahead.

The next highlight of the event was the honoring of the academic toppers of the 2023-24 session by the esteemed guest of honor, Managing Director, Mr. Salman Ibrahim. With immense pride and admiration, the top-performing students were celebrated for their exceptional dedication, unwavering hard work, and remarkable academic excellence. Their proud parents were also invited to the stage, adding a heartwarming touch to the ceremony. The honorees included the diligent Wahaj Ur Rehman of Grade 1, the brilliant Ayesha Sameer of Grade 2, the outstanding Mohammed Abdul Rehman of Grade 3, the accomplished Zainab Safeer of Grade 4, and the exemplary Ihan Mohammed of Grade 5.

The Guest of Honor, Managing Director Mr. Salman Ibrahim, delivered a poignant and eloquent address, paying tribute to his late father, the visionary founder and Chairman of the PACE Group, Dr. P.A. Ibrahim Haji, who passed away on this day. He expressed profound pride in his father’s trailblazing journey, which began with the establishment of the first institution in the Gulf and evolved into a prestigious network of 24 institutions educating over 34,000 students. He commended the team’s exceptional achievements and unwavering dedication to educational excellence, emphasizing the honor and privilege of upholding this extraordinary legacy.

A thought-provoking short film, created by the students, shed light on the rising prevalence of vaping among teenagers. IISM, deeply committed to the well-being of its students, has taken a firm stand against this alarming trend. The film not only served as a wake-up call but also sparked an important conversation, urging both students and parents to stay vigilant and take proactive steps in combating this growing issue.

Following this, the Chief Guest, Mr. Aws Al Shaheen, delivered an inspiring address. He expressed his sincere gratitude for the invitation to be part of such a remarkable institution. With great optimism, he shared his vision of seeing the bright young students of IISM evolve into the leaders of tomorrow—individuals who will serve their communities, uplift their families, and bring pride to all. His words left a lasting impression, reinforcing the promise and potential of the next generation.

The evening blossomed with a vibrant cultural program that captivated the audience with its rich array of performances, each showcasing the immense talent, creativity, and dedication of the students. From graceful dances to soulful music, every act reflected the cultural diversity and artistic flair nurtured at the school, leaving the audience with lasting memories.

The journey began with "Carnival Night," a lively celebration featuring Grade 1 students performing acrobatic somersaults, enhanced by stunning special effects. Next, "Mashups" energized the crowd with a blend of high-paced musical genres. The mood shifted with "Mystical Sands of Time and Serenity," a graceful fusion of Arabic dance and music by Grades 1 and 2, which conveyed a message of peace, culminating in a symbol of unity with dignitaries joining the stage, holding flags representing global diversity.

Following this, "Mehfil-e-Khas," presented by Classes 3 to 5, offered a mesmerizing treat of traditional Indian music and Qawwali rhythms. "Rhythms of India," by Classes 1 and 2, brought vibrant regional dances celebrating the harvest festivals of India. Meanwhile, the "Highsteppers," from Classes 3 to 5, dazzled with flawless footwork and synchronization, blending athleticism and artistry. "Bollywood: Retro to Metro," also by Classes 1 and 2, took the audience on a journey through Bollywood’s golden-era classics and contemporary hits.

The fusion performance "Strings of Circuits," by Classes 1 and 2, blended puppet dance with robotic movements, leaving the audience in awe. Ayesha Saleem and Jeeva Jiggu, students of Class 4, then captivated with their musical talents in "Filler," showcasing the budding singers of IISM. The AI Skit by Classes 3 to 5 explored the thought-provoking theme of "Friend or Foe," highlighting the evolving relationship between humans and technology.

The evening reached its peak with "Serenade of Shadows and Light," a powerful portrayal of the Wayanad landslide incident, deeply affecting the audience with its emotional depth and artistic brilliance. The grand finale, "Hungama 2.0," erupted with youthful energy, leaving everyone exhilarated and bringing the evening to a triumphant close.

The program concluded with loads of appreciation, by the Headmistress, Mrs. Sridevi Neelakannan, With warmth and genuine gratitude, she expressed her thanks to all those who had contributed to making the event a memorable success.
