Gulf Indian School Celebrates Parents' Day with Grandeur
The Gulf Indian School Auditorium was abuzz with excitement on 13 February 2025, as the school commemorated Parents' Day for Class 1 and Class 3 children. The event, themed "Harmony of Seasons" and "Retro to Metro," was a testament to the school's commitment to fostering creativity, talent, and community bonding.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome speech setting the tone for the day's festivities. The presence of Mr. Anoop Kumar Sharma, Principal of New Gulf Indian School as the Chief Guest, added grace and dignity to the celebration, while the presence of the Special Guest Dr Merlyn Ann Akash M.B.B.S, M.S ENT,Head & Neck Surgeon, Kuwait Hospital made the event even more special.
The dignitaries present were then honoured and recognised. The programme continued with the distribution of prizes to the winners of the overall individual championship of various sports events conducted in the month of November 2024. The winner of the Inter-School Hindi Storytelling Competition was also awarded the prize. The recipients beamed with pride as their achievements stood a testament to their hard work and dedication.
Principal, Dr Prashant Vasudev highlighted the significance of Parents’ Day celebrations, emphasizing the parental involvement in a child’s educational journey.
The Chief Guest, Mr Anoop Kumar Sharma, delivered an engaging and informative speech on parenting, offering tips and insights that kept the audience captivated. He also commended the teachers for their tireless efforts in preparing the children for the spectacular show. The Special Guest, an ENT specialist, shared valuable expertise on maintaining good ear, nose, and throat health, providing parents with practical tips and advice on how to promote healthy habits in their children.
The highlight of the morning was the spectacular cultural programme presented by the Class 1 and Class 3 children. The young performers captivated the audience with their energetic and talented displays, showcasing their skills in music and dance.
The Class 1 children presented a mesmerising performance based on the theme "Harmony of Seasons." Dressed in vibrant costumes, they sang and danced to a medley of songs, depicting the changing seasons. Their innocent charm and enthusiasm won the hearts of the audience, who were treated to a visual feast of colours, music, and movement.
The Class 3 children, on the other hand, took the audience on a musical journey through the decades with their "Retro to Metro" performance. With their slick dance moves and energetic performances, they brought to life the iconic songs of yesteryears, seamlessly transitioning from one era to another. Their confidence, talent, and showmanship left the audience in awe.
The programmes were meticulously performed reflecting the hard work and dedication of the students, teachers, and parents. The cultural programmes brought immense joy to the parents, who were thrilled to see their children perform on stage.
The Vice Principal of Intermediate, Mr Facin A Mathai delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the parents, teachers, and students for their collective efforts in making the event a resounding success.
