In a colorful event that aims to nurture a love for books and a scientific spirit among young minds, the Indian Community School Kuwait, Amman Branch, inaugurated its very own Readers' Club. The inaugural ceremony, held in the school premises, marked a significant step towards promoting reading habits and intellectual curiosity among students. The Readers' Club was formally inaugurated by Prof. Cui Qiuishi, a renowned Artificial Intelligence researcher from Chongqing University, China. Prof. Qiuishi, in his inspiring inaugural speech, emphasized that although artificial intelligence is reshaping industries and work environments, it will not eliminate all jobs. He urged the students to focus on their education, work diligently, and prepare themselves to thrive in an evolving world, stating, "The future belongs to those who are determined to learn and adapt."
Principal, Mr. Rajesh Nair, who presided over the function, highlighted the historic significance of the moment. He expressed hope that this initiative would inspire and encourage reading and scientific thinking among students.
The club secretary, Reema Jafar, spoke about the club’s vision. Reema outlined the club’s upcoming activities, which include storytelling sessions for younger children, science awareness programs, and interactive events that will spark creativity and curiosity.
A key highlight of the Readers' Club is the Book Pooling Project. Under this program, students will contribute books from their personal collections to create a shared library. Club members will be able to borrow books from this pool, encouraging not just reading but also a spirit of sharing and community building.
