Team Ecovance Secures Third Place Among 55 Teams; ICSK Student Tops in Microsoft Office Championship
The IGCSE Wing of The Indian Community School, Kuwait – Khaitan (ICSK Khaitan) continues to uphold its legacy of academic distinction and innovation. The IGCSE students celebrated a major triumph as Team Ecovance clinched third place in the prestigious GUST Aspiring Innovators High School Competition II, organized by the Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST).
The competition drew entries from over 55 teams across Kuwait, with only 18 advancing to the final round after rigorous evaluations. In a fiercely competitive finale, Ms. Akshatha Rajesh, Master Judah Daniel Jacob, and Master Zurain Farhan Ansari from ICSK Khaitan emerged third, missing second place by a narrow margin of just 0.12 points. The team was awarded a cash prize of KD 250 for their exceptional performance.
Their innovative project stood out for its use of gamification to promote the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), blending education, technology, and social consciousness. The interactive platform aimed to inspire youth engagement through creative, meaningful learning experiences.
Remarkably, the students balanced their intensive preparation with their ongoing Cambridge IGCSE Board Examinations, demonstrating exemplary dedication, time management, and academic discipline. Their success was guided by the mentorship of Ms. Shafqat Hussain and Ms. Farzana Anjum, whose support played a pivotal role in their achievement.
Adding to the accolades, ICSK Khaitan’s IGCSE Wing also made a strong mark in the National Microsoft Office Specialist Championship, the first of its kind in Kuwait, also hosted by GUST University. Out of 142 high school and university-level participants, Nathan Amit Mathews of IG-1 secured a place among the top six performers—a noteworthy accomplishment given the competitive field.
These achievements not only highlight the talent and hard work of ICSK students but also reinforce the school’s mission to cultivate innovation, leadership, and global citizenship.
"From groundbreaking projects to national recognitions, our students continue to push boundaries and set new benchmarks. At ICSK Khaitan, we do not just envision the future—we empower our students to build it," the school leadership affirmed.
With each milestone, ICSK Khaitan’s IGCSE Wing strengthens its commitment to nurturing the thinkers, leaders, and changemakers of tomorrow.
