Mithilesh Ranjith Kumar, a Grade 8 student of Gulf Indian School, Fahaheel, Kuwait, is an accomplished chess player who has brought laurels to his school and the Indian community through his remarkable achievements. He has participated in several national and international tournaments, winning multiple gold medals and trophies.
In August 2025, he competed in the 31st Abu Dhabi International Chess Festival, which featured 315 participants from 80 countries in the Junior Section. This was his third consecutive appearance in the event. He had earlier secured the U12 Silver Medal in 2023 and the U12 Gold Medal in 2024. This year, he finished the tournament with an impressive score of 8 out of 9, remaining undefeated, and was crowned the Junior Champion of the 31st Abu Dhabi International Chess Festival 2025. He also gained 66.4 FIDE ELO points, further improving his international ranking.
