This annual conclave, renowned for its rigorous standards and spirited debate, welcomed some of the most promising student delegates from across the country. Over two days, participants engaged in high-stakes discussions, challenging one another to craft innovative, diplomatic solutions to some of the world’s most pressing issues.

This year’s edition of FMUN featured an impressive lineup of committees, each with complex and timely agendas. The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) tackled the geopolitical tensions of the Taiwanese Strait and the Thailand–Cambodia border conflict, framed within the broader theme of disarmament in Southeast Asia. The Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC) turned its lens toward the historical conflict between Nicaragua and the United States, delving into military and paramilitary activities. Other committees included the International Court of Justice (ICJ), the International Press Corps (IPC), the Ad Hoc Committee with a confidential agenda, and the United Nations Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ), which explored the challenges of terrorism in the digital age.

Amidst this vibrant atmosphere of diplomacy and debate, twelve passionate and articulate delegates from Indian Educational School (IES), Kuwait, stood tall, representing Grades 9 through 12. The IES delegation included Jalaluddeen Akbar, Pranav Sriram, Abhijith Kartha, Aamina Palekar, Manna Mariam Shibu, Bhavya Basanth Deth, Shannon Mariam Varghese, Sreehari Rajeev, Mohammed Omar Ali, Devapriya Deepak, Janvi Syam, and Vagmee Amey Shevade. Each of these young ambassadors brought intellect, empathy, and eloquence to the committee floor, embodying the core values of IES—leadership, excellence, and integrity.

Their dedication and meticulous preparation translated into outstanding achievements, as several IES delegates earned recognition for their exceptional performance. Aamina Palekar (Grade 10-B) was honoured with the coveted Best Delegate Award in DISEC, showcasing her strategic acumen and persuasive diplomacy. Pranav Sriram (Grade 11-A) and Vagmee Amey Shevade (Grade 10-E) earned Diplomatic Commendations in the UNSC and ICJ respectively, for their composed and compelling contributions. Meanwhile, Sreehari Rajeev (Grade 11-C) received an Honourable Mention in the IPC, highlighting his journalistic insight and critical analysis.

The success of the IES delegation at FMUN 2025 is a testament to the school’s dedication to nurturing globally conscious, articulate young leaders. Their performance was not merely a display of knowledge, but a celebration of empathy, collaboration, and the courage to lead. As the curtains fell on this year’s FMUN, the applause that resonated throughout the venue was not just for victories won, but for voices heard, minds challenged, and a generation inspired to shape a better world.
