Investiture Ceremony 2026 -2027 – Gulf Indian School, Kuwait

1 BIN 9631 LargeGulf Indian School marked a significant milestone in its academic calendar with the dignified execution of its Investiture Ceremony, an event distinguished by tradition and a forward-thinking approach to student governance. The event began with a graceful welcome address delivered by Mrs Nisheela Hakim, Vice Principal of the KG and Primary sections, followed by a thought-provoking speech from the Principal of GIS, Dr Prashant Vasudev. In his remarks, Dr Prashant Vasudev articulated that genuine leadership entails fulfilling responsibilities with integrity, fairness and humility. He highlighted that a leader's character is forged through resilience in the face of challenges and by making choices that embody fundamental values such as honesty and respect. Ultimately, he urged the student body to recognise that leadership is a shared journey grounded in teamwork and purpose, motivating everyone to create a significant impact through their everyday actions. In a display of institutional solidarity and gratitude, Dr Prashant Vasudev presented tokens of appreciation to the distinguished guests, Dr Saleem Kundungal, Principal of India International School, Kuwait and Mr Anoop Kumar Sharma, Principal of New Gulf Indian School.

A significant historic milestone was achieved as the school launched the inaugural Primary Student Council, representing the first occasion in GIS's history where leadership roles were officially granted to the primary division. This cohort of 16 young leaders was formally inducted, with the Principal and special guests presenting them with badges and sashes. Subsequently, the investiture of the Senior Student Council took place, where 40 elected representatives were prepared to take on their duties. In a notable act of trust, Dr Prashant Vasudev entrusted the School and House flags to the Head Boy and the captains of the

Sathya, Seva, Jyothi, and Santhi houses, respectively. The atmosphere was charged with a sense of duty during the Oath-Taking

Ceremony, where the Head Boy led the entire council in a pledge of integrity and service, which the members repeated with profound pride.

In addition to the day's innovations, the school was excited to announce the establishment of the first-ever Music Council and Music Choir, who were also awarded badges to acknowledge their contributions to the school's cultural environment. The gathering was further enhanced by the insights of the guest speakers; Dr Saleem Kundungal provided a thought-provoking discussion on the true nature of leadership, while Mr Anoop Kumar Sharma offered practical advice to the newly elected members. The ceremony also included inaugural addresses from the Head Boy, Head Girl, and their respective deputies, concluding with a formal vote of thanks delivered by the Vice Principal Mrs Kala Rajan. Every important moment of this historic day was documented in official photographs, signifying the successful start of the council's term.
