ICSK Khaitan Hosts Inaugural UK Curriculum Graduation Ceremony
The International Education Department of The Indian Community School Kuwait, Khaitan, marked a historic milestone with the grand celebration of EQUINOX 2026: A Time for Transition, held on Thursday, 21 May 2026. The occasion marked the first-ever graduation and blessing ceremony of the A Level students under the UK curriculum. The event was graced by the benign presence of the Chief Guest, Mr. Omar Sharif, Principal of Innova International English School, Kuwait, along with the Board of Trustees of The Indian Community School Kuwait, Mr. Shaik Abdul Rahiman, Honorary Chairman, and Mr. Azharuddin Amer Mohammed, Honorary Secretary, along with principals, vice principals, deputy vice principals of various ICSK schools, faculty members, parents, and graduating students.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of holy verses, followed by the Kuwait National Anthem and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, jointly performed by the Chief Guest, Mr. Omar Sharif, and the Principal, Mr. K. G. Shirsath. The Principal, in his welcome address, warmly greeted the gathering and encouraged students to pursue excellence with confidence and determination. As a token of respect and gratitude, Mr. Omar Sharif, was felicitated by Mr. Shaik Abdul Rahiman. The Chief Guest, in his keynote address, congratulated the graduating students and inspired them to seize every opportunity with confidence and purpose, while upholding strong values and cherishing lifelong friendships.
A major highlight of EQUINOX 2026 was the recognition of outstanding Cambridge achievers. Aysha Jamil was honoured with the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Award for securing Top in Kuwait in AS Level Computer Science (June 2025) and for being the best across three International Cambridge AS Levels. Ram Putra Kumar was recognized with the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Award for achieving Top in the World in the Cambridge IGCSE English as a Second Language (Speaking Endorsement) examination conducted in June 2025.
The event featured a vibrant cultural showcase, including an inaugural dance, group song, reminiscence speeches, group dance, interactive segments, reflections from a parent, and the distribution of certificates, medals and mementos. A special “Graduation Snapshot” captured memorable moments of the pioneering batch, reflecting pride, unity, and accomplishment.
The ceremony concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Mrs. Thushara Aravind, Academic Supervisor, followed by an exhortation speech by Mrs. Minarva Ramesh, Vice Principal of the International Education Department. The emotionally resonant “Showers of Blessings” segment marked a dignified close to the ceremony, as dignitaries, parents and teachers extended their heartfelt wishes and blessings to the graduates for their future journey. The celebration culminated in a grand ceremonial dinner, leaving behind a lasting legacy of inspiration, achievement and cherished memories for the International Wing of ICSK Khaitan.
