Igniting the Entrepreneurial Spirit Among Young Minds at ICSK
The Indian Community School, Kuwait conducted an engaging Experience Sharing and Awareness Session for the Grade 10 and Grade 11 Commerce and Humanities students on 23rd September 2026. The session was led by Dr. Joelle Daniel, Doctor of Business Administration, CEO of the Management House for Project and Business Management, sole representative of the American Board in Kuwait, and founder of the Women in Leadership Conference and Organization.
The programme commenced with an Islamic prayer led by Zainab Chikte, followed by a warm welcome address by Dr. V. Binumon, Principal and Senior Administrator of ICSK. Students were encouraged to participate actively and listen attentively throughout the session.
Dr. Joelle Daniel addressed the students on the topic ‘Becoming an Entrepreneur: From Vision to Reality.’ Through personal experiences and stories from her career, she spoke about the decisions she had made, the challenges she encountered, and the failures that shaped her professional journey.
Explaining the concept of entrepreneurship, Dr. Daniel described an entrepreneur as someone who identifies a need in the market and develops a solution to address it. She highlighted that entrepreneurship involves the ability to “create something from nothing.” Her journey served as an example of the importance of believing in one's vision and taking the first step despite challenges.
Dr. Joelle Daniel emphasized that passion alone is not enough to succeed as an entrepreneur. She discussed the importance of developing essential skills, continuously learning, communicating effectively, and seeking support when necessary. She encouraged students to never hesitate to ask for help, pointing out that the fear of asking for assistance can become a major weakness.
One of the key messages of the session was the importance of lifelong learning. Dr. Daniel shared the thought that “the moment you stop learning, your brain starts dying,” encouraging students to develop a love for learning and remain open to new knowledge and experiences.
She also explained the meaning and significance of communication, emphasizing that effective communication is an essential skill for personal and professional success. Students were reminded that failure should not be viewed as the end of a journey, but rather as a stepping stone towards success.
The session concluded with an engaging and interactive Question-and-Answer session, providing students with an opportunity to interact directly with the speaker. Students raised questions about entrepreneurship, overcoming challenges, choosing a career path, developing essential skills, and turning ideas into practical opportunities. Dr. Joelle Daniel responded to their questions by sharing valuable insights drawn from her own professional experiences and entrepreneurial journey.
The session proved to be an enriching experience for the students, leaving them with valuable lessons on vision, perseverance, continuous learning, effective communication, and the courage to turn ideas into reality.
