Shrimp Curry

Ingredients for Shrimp Curry Recipe

Shrimps(Chemmeen) - 40 nos
(medium sized, cooked)
Pearl onions(Kunjulli) - 15 nos
(don`t chop)
Onion(big) - 1 no
(chopped)
Green chillies - 8 nos
(split half)
Curry leaves - 2 stems
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Olive oil - 4 tbsp
Coconut milk - 1 can
Tomato(big) - 1 no
(sliced)

For marinating:
Vinegar - 1 tbsp
Ginger-garlic paste - 2 tsp
Chilly powder - 1 tsp
Black pepper - 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder - 2 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Salt- As reqd


Preparation Method of Shrimp Curry Recipe
 

1)Marinate shrimps with vinegar, ginger-garlic paste, chilly powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, black pepper and salt for at least 1/2 hour.

2)Heat oil in a pan.

3)Splutter mustard seeds.

4)Add marinated shrimps into it.

5)Saute for 5 mins on a medium-high flame. Stir it occasionally.

6)Add whole pearl onions, chopped onions, green chillies and curry leaves and saute on a medium flame for 15 mins.

7)Let the juice in shrimp and the onions mix with each other.

8)Once the onions are transparent, add coconut milk.

9)Boil it for 5 mins.

10)Add sliced tomato to the boiling curry and close with a lid.

11)Turn off the flame and let it stay undisturbed for at least 15 mins.

12)Add required salt.

:- Serve with Appam, Chappathis and Rice.

:- If the shrimp is uncooked, just marinate them and stir fry in the oil for 15 mins on medium flame and proceed to the remaining steps.
