Many websites exist with the goal in mind of making your life easier as a student, but how do you know which ones are actually going to help? After some research, I believe the ten websites below will be the most useful during your years as a student. Lets face it- we all need a little help getting organized, finding sources, sharing and communicating with one another and inside knowledge on classes.

10. Project Gutenberg

This site enables you to download more than 30,000 free electronic books to read on your computer or other portable electronic devices in a variety of file formats. Goodbye heavy textbooks!

9. Ref Desk

This site is a great place to find and check facts. They have an enormous collection of reference materials, searchable databases and other resources that can’t be found anywhere else.

8. Free Translation

Use this site to translate a word, a document or even a website. Spanish class just got a whole lot easier.

7. Rate My Professor

A website with reviews of over 1 million professors and 10 million student opinions. Check out the professors before you decide to take their class or provide feedback on one or your professors so students don’t have to go through what you just did.

6. Half.com

No need to pay full price for a text book with this Ebay subsidary. Half.com has textbooks searchable by their UPC, IBN or SKU so you can find the exact edition needed for your class and save that precious money for something a little more exciting.

5. Easy Bib

An automatic bibliography citation maker. The site automatically formats sources in MLA, APA, and Chicago style for research papers. Thank goodness for this site and no more bibliography!

The web platform for IM on any network or site. connects you to MSN, Yahoo, AOL/AIM, MySpace, Facebook, Google Talk, and many more so you don’t have to worry which platform to find your friends on.
