English Literature Week at British Council; ICSK Khaitan – IGCSE Reigns Supreme

British Council Comp.1 11zonThe young prodigies of IGCSE at the Indian Community School Kuwait, Khaitan created history by becoming the Overall Winner in the English Literature Week Competition Finals hosted by British Council, Kuwait. After treading through a challenging semifinal round in December 2022, for three events namely, Poetry Recitation, Essay Writing and Table Topic trudged through the inferno of the finals on 12th, 13th and 14th February, 2023 respectively.

The meticulous organization of the contest by British Council tranquilized the nerve-wrecking atmosphere of the event arena and also proved to be a sort of stress buster, yet the finalists representing their respective schools were struggling to bear the heat of the competition even on an overcast wintry day.  Of all the British Council Partner Schools in Kuwait, one school stood apart. True to the saying ‘the winner stands alone’, ICSK-IGCSE  stood alone as the undisputed champion by winning two 1st prizes and a consolation prize in as many events. Aysha Jamil and Jessica Jebaraj won the top prize in Essay Writing and Table Topic respectively, while Akshatha Rajesh won a consolation prize in Poetry Recitation.

Though it was a proud moment for all the finalists, the complete dominance of ICSK-IGCSE would certainly find a coveted place in the annals of British Council, Kuwait. The school which has just stepped into the world of Cambridge Curriculum, grew into a giant in terms of quality education by international standard in no time, and could give all other British Council Partner Schools in the Middle East a tough competition.

The staff, students and the Hon. Management of ICSK, Khaitan, exalted the phenomenal accomplishments of the prodigious talents of ICSK-IGCSE in the English Literature Week Competition and lauded the support and efforts of Team IGCSE in moulding the budding maestros.  He also extended his appreciation to the teacher in charge of competitions, Mr. Melvin K. and congratulations to the British Council, Kuwait for organizing such significant competitions for the young minds to explore and demonstrate their skills and talents on a global stage.  ICSK-IGCSE, the humble brook that began its course a year back transformed into a formidable force of ocean forming mighty waves with golden crests in the realm of education.
