MASTERING THE ART OF HEALTHY LIVING
“I can’t control everything in my life, but I can control what I put in my body” is a famous quote related to ensuring healthy diet and food habits. It is essential for everyone to have a balanced diet, a healthy mind and body to lead a happy and meaningful life.
On 22nd April,2023, an enlightening session on Mastering the Art of Healthy Living was conducted by Dr. Madhu Harihar, a renowned holistic health doctor at the Indian School of Excellence. The session aimed to educate students and teachers about the significance of maintaining a healthy and balanced diet through the concept of having a colourful healthy plate. Dr. Madhu Harihar emphasized the importance of incorporating a variety of healthy food into our meals. He explained that different colours in food signify various essential nutrients, vitamins, and minerals. Dr. Madhu also shed light on the detrimental effects of consuming junk food, referring to it as the "food monster" lurking within tempting packaging. He urged the audience to make mindful choices and prioritize their well-being over momentary indulgences.
To complement the discussion on healthy eating, Mr. Sunil Mogra, a distinguished speaker, contributed to the session by leading breathing exercises, emphasizing the importance of deep breathing for focus and relaxation. He emphasized deep breathing techniques can greatly contribute to maintaining a focused and relaxed state of mind. By incorporating these exercises into daily routines, individuals can experience enhanced mental clarity and reduced stress levels.
The session was made even more memorable when Mrs. Sherly Dennis, Director of ISEK felicitated both guest speakers with a memento and a sapling, symbolizing growth, nurturing and conservation of energy as a reflection of ISEK’s philosophy.
The event concluded with an interactive segment, allowing both students and teachers to address their queries and concerns regarding a healthy diet. This open discussion fostered a dynamic learning environment and provided valuable insights for all participants.
