The auditorium at Gulf Indian School, Kuwait buzzed with excitement on 9 April 2025, as the school held its annual Investiture Ceremony to induct the student council for the academic year 2025-2026.
The Investiture Ceremony was dignified by the illustrious presence of the Chief Guest Sr Saritha Monteiro, Principal of Carmel Indian School, Special Guest Sr Maria Lekha, Vice Principal of Carmel Indian School and Dr. Prashant Vasudev, Principal of Gulf Indian School. Also in attendance were the Core Leadership Team members, comprising Mrs. Kala Rajan-Vice Principal; Mrs. Sofi Varghese-Principal of KG & Primary; Mr. Facin A Mathai- Vice Principal of Intermediate and Mrs. Nisheela Hakim-Vice Principal of KG & Primary. Proud parents, added to the splendour of the occasion.
The momentous occasion commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the school choir's exquisite renditions of the National Anthem of Kuwait and the School Anthem, affirming their allegiance.
Principal Dr. Prashant Vasudev extended warm felicitations to the newly installed School Council team, urging them to discharge their responsibilities with unwavering integrity, compassion, and a sense of purpose. He emphasised the significance of setting exemplary standards as role models for their peers. His speech culminated with a bouquet of good wishes extended to the newly designated school council members, wishing them success in their roles and responsibilities.
The investiture ceremony itself was a moment of pride for the chosen students. Following a march past by the newly elected council members, Distinguished Guests , Dr Prashant Vasudev, Principal, along with the Core Leadership Team, conferred badges and sashes to the student council members, officially marking the beginning of their leadership journey.
The Chief Guest Sr Saritha Monteiro , Principal of Carmel Indian School, delivered an inspiring speech, congratulating the newly elected council and emphasising that leadership is about courage and positive impact. She lauded the school Principal Dr. Prashant Vasudev for his steadfast commitment to student development and his dynamic leadership.
The Head Boy, Christy Jophy, administered the oath, and the spectacle of the young leaders taking the oath of responsibility was truly awe-inspiring. The speech delivered by the Head Girl, Nanda Prasad, was undeniably impressive, conveying her gratitude to the school for entrusting her with this significant role. Moreover, she pledged to approach her duties and responsibilities with utmost seriousness, recognising that she is tasked with upholding the school's motto.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mrs Sofi Varghese , Principal of KG & Primary, expressing gratitude to all the attendees and contributors, acknowledging the collective effort that made the event successful.
Throughout the event, parents beamed with pride, witnessing their children take on these new responsibilities and stepping into their roles as leaders. The event was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impression on everyone present and inspiring the newly elected council members to embrace their responsibilities with enthusiasm and dedication. The ceremony exemplified the school's commitment to fostering leadership qualities in its students and preparing them for the challenges of the future.
