“One Life, A Thousand Stories: Bhavans Kuwait Marks 20 Years of Legacy and Love”
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kuwait, marked its 20th Founder’s Day with grandeur and heartfelt reverence, celebrating two decades of excellence under the visionary leadership of its Chairman, Mr. N. K. Ramachandran Menon, who was also the Chief Guest of the occasion. This year’s theme, “One Life, A Thousand Stories,” captured the spirit of the event, paying tribute to the Chairman’s life and the countless stories of achievement, dedication, and success that have shaped the institution over the years.
The celebration was further blessed by the gracious presence of Madam Sudha Ramachandran, the First Lady of Bhavans Middle East. The formal ceremony commenced with a warm welcome address by Vice Principal Mr. Liju Joseph, followed by reflections from Chairman Mr. N. K. Ramachandran Menon, who revisited the humble beginnings of the school and shared his vision for the future. Vice Chairman C. A. Sooraj Ramachandran and Director C. A. Divya Rajesh Ramachandran reflected on the inception of the institution and its remarkable journey over twenty years, while Principal Mr. Anand Victor spoke with warmth about the growth of the Bhavans schools in the Middle East, the inspiration drawn from the Chairman’s vision, and his own personal journey of growth under the leadership of the great visionary. Vice Principal of the Senior Wing, Ms. Meenakshi Nayyar, shared her reflections on her experiences, and Mr. Benjamin Philip, proud parent of Ashlin Benjamin of Grade 12, spoke movingly about the role the school has played in shaping his children’s growth and character. The formal function concluded with a gracious vote of thanks delivered by Mrs. Bhavitha Bright, Vice Principal of Smart Indian School, Cambridge Wing.
The evening then unfolded into a vibrant cultural program presented jointly by the students and teachers of Indian Educational School and the teachers of Smart Indian School. The auditorium was packed with parents and well-wishers, who were left spellbound by the spectacular performances. A skit based on the theme highlighted the many stories that unfolded —the achievements of students, the dedication of teachers and staff, and the success of alumni who have carried the Bhavans legacy across the world. Music, dance, and drama came together to honour the life and vision of the Chairman, whose journey continues to inspire generations.
The 20th Founder’s Day was not merely a celebration, but a collective acknowledgment of the countless lives touched by one life. It transcended the bounds of a formal gathering to become a warm reunion of a closely-knit family — a community bound by shared values, memories, and aspirations. As the evening drew to a close, the auditorium, filled with parents, alumni, students, staff, and well-wishers, resonated with a deep sense of pride and belonging. The participants, who poured their talent and dedication into every performance, and the esteemed guests, who graced the occasion with their presence and words, were all left with hearts full of gratitude — for the visionary who laid the foundation, for the institution that continues to nurture dreams, and for an evening that was not only beautifully spent but deeply felt. It was a resounding tribute to the past, a celebration of the present, and a beacon of inspiration for the future — all woven into one life, a thousand stories.
