Gulf Indian School (GIS) commemorated its 32nd Foundation Day with a splendid gathering that harmonized unity, tradition, and aspiration, uniting students, faculty, parents, alumni, and distinguished guests in a vibrant tribute to its illustrious legacy. Held in the school’s esteemed auditorium under the theme Meliora—a call to pursue excellence—the event exemplified GIS’s steadfast commitment to academic and cultural distinction.
The occasion was graced by Chief Guest Mr. Ghazi Faisal Al Dabbous, Chairman of Al Faisal Educational Establishment, accompanied by Manager Mr. Sreekumar Pillai and respected principals from affiliated institutions: Dr. Saleem Kundungal (India International School), Mr. Radhakrishnan C (United Indian School), Mrs. Sajitha Menon (Salmiya Indian Model School), and Mr. Anoop Kumar Sharma (New Gulf Indian School). The ceremony commenced with a melodious Quran recitation, followed by the Kuwait and School Anthems, uniting attendees in patriotic harmony. Head Girl Nanda Prasad delivered a refined welcome address, expressing gratitude for the community’s unwavering support. The stage flourished with a vibrant welcome performance and the dynamic Josh-e-Bhangra dance, earning enthusiastic applause.
A heartfelt tribute honored the late Mrs. Shyamala Divakaran, former principal, whose visionary leadership continues to inspire GIS’s ethos, presented by Mrs. Nisheela Hakim, Principal of KG & Primary, with a video celebrating her contributions. Principal Dr. Prashant Vasudev, in his address, reflected on GIS’s achievements and shared an inspiring vision for the future. Chief Guest Mr. Ghazi Faisal Al Dabbous presented the prestigious Al Dabbous Scholarship, recognizing exemplary students with cash prizes and certificates. The Annual Report showcased GIS’s accomplishments, while the Prize Distribution ceremony celebrated academic excellence, honouring Kuwait Toppers, School Toppers, and Subject Toppers from the CBSE Board Examination 2024–25, alongside achievements in sports and the arts.
Special guests enriched the event with inspiring addresses. Mr. Radhakrishnan C sparked scholarly ambition, Dr. Saleem Kundungal shared profound reflections, Mr. Anoop Kumar Sharma offered insights on parenting, and Mrs. Sajitha Menon lauded GIS’s legacy. The Cultural Kaleidoscope captivated with enchanting performances, including the inspiring skit Echoes of Hope and a finale blending elegance with ecological reverence, delighting the audience. Vice Principal Mrs. Sofy Varghese concluded with a gracious vote of thanks, acknowledging the collective efforts that shaped this triumph. The 32nd Foundation Day stood as a resplendent testament to Gulf Indian School’s legacy of excellence and its boundless aspirations for the future.
